I drove past the train tracks behind the building I work in today and the weather was sunny, though not warm. For reason I suddenly had a full recolection of my 1st day working at Disney's Magic Kingdom some 12 years ago now: Driving into the far north back gate of the complex towards the Disney University Building and hearing the whistle of the Magic Kingdom Railroad off in the distance- I thought "wow what a magical place to work," it was just so cool for someone who in 5th grade drew a picture of themselves working in a theme park when asked to draw where they wanted to work when they grew up.

Anyone else have magical little memmories like this?

Yeah, I do...

Driving up with my family to Opryland. Seeing the flags flying in the air, hearing the screams from the bobsled. It was all new to me. Everything was so big and fascinating. If only I had known that was my last visit to the park... RIP Opryland...

To this day, I swear Opryland got me hooked on coasters!

One of my very favorite memories of Disney was when I was on my College Program. I had an evening off, so I went to Epcot, got a bite to eat, then sat on the bridge between China and the Outpost to watch Tapestry of Nations and IllumiNations.

There was a mom and dad with a little girl who was maybe 5 or 6 years old sitting on the other side of the bridge, and we were the only people in the area. So as Tapestry started, all the puppets kept walking straight by them, without a single one stopping to interact with the little girl. She kept jumping up, waving at them, yelling to them, but no one stopped.

Finally, the very last puppet of the parade was coming across the bridge, and it stopped to let the little girl touch it's hand! The litle girl absolutely lit up, and was so, so excited to have gotten attention from one of them finally. It was a beautiful moment to see!

Then, as the puppet passed me...I saw that it was one of my friends in the costume! Of course I got all weepy since I am such a girl like that. She had made my day by making the little girl's day!

Later, when I told her the story, she said that she had no idea just how much impact that one little thing had had on the four people in the area! She had no idea that no other puppets had interacted with her, she had no idea just how happy the girl acted afterwards, and she had no clue that it had brightened my day so much.

Since that happened, that has always been the best example I have seen of Disney Magic. It made me proud to be a part of a company that can provide such lasting memories for it's patrons, and provide so much joy even years later.

When I wemt to joyfest at PGA for the first time in 2001 I was in the back of the park at closing. I wanted to ride stealth so I was walking in that area. Then I hear this really old patriotic music and I remembered the first time I went to the park when I was five. It was just so cool being back there with all the memories with no one else around. Oh and I DIDINT get to ride stealth.

My first visit to Hersheypark was very magical. It was 1997, and the only park I had been to before this was Marine Land (and Darien when I was a baby, but I don't remember that). I remember being so amazed by the way the park was all themed to chocolate. I remember standing next to the height marker thing and falling into the "Twizzlers" category, meaning I was good to go on whatever I wanted basically.

The way the park was set up, so peaceful, and the extra things like showing the chocolate factory, made it so perfect for a family. This was back when Sidewinder was the most intense ride at the park, and Wildcat was brand-new.
