SteveR
Everyone has been so helpful planning our So. Cal. Coaster Tour, I thought I would ask about accomodations. What is a good hotel near Magic Mountain? Cheap, but not a fleabag. We don't plan on spending a lot of time in the room, but we don't want to be awake all night with people screaming "TATSU!!!!" up and down the halls! I'm turning 40 in during our trip in May and we old men enjoy our sleep. What about Knott's Berry Farm? Steve
Meteornotes
There's a Holiday Inn right off the same exit as SFMM that's nice. I'd recommend that. Knott's area, I'm not sure about, since I haven't stayed down there since 2001. A lot of the hotels across the street seemed like dumps, but there might be a nicer place a few blocks away. dt
dougr
We stayed at the Motel 6 in Buena Park on Orangethorpe. It had bulletproof glass at the front desk and one morning I heard someone yelling "Get down! Stay down!" I looked out the door my wife had left open and I saw a guy lying on the ground with another guy holding a 9mm on him. I called 911 and got transferred around a bit. I was waiting on hold when I saw the Buena Park cops arrive. I think the guy with the gun was a bounty hunter, he seemed a little too excited to be a cop. Then we stayed at the Red Roof in Anaheim. It was like 10-15 bucks more, but it was right off I-5, the shuttle bus stopped right in front of the office, the pool was nicer, and they delivered a LA Times to my doorstep. Jew
Hometown Inn just a few blocks up from KBF on Beach was decent enough to stay at. $40 a night too.
robbalvey
As for SFMM there are quite a few options: At the SFMM exit: Hilton Garden Inn Holiday Inn Express Best Western About 2 exits away: Hampton Inn Ramada Inn Near Knott's you have just about everything from a Super 8 right across the street to an Embassy Suites about 2 blocks away. I have stayed at the Super 8 and it's very convenient because you can just leave your car there and walk across the street to the park. I've also stayed at the Red Roof Inn just on the other side of the Freeway (about 2 minutes down the street from the park) and that was fine too. Hope this helps! --Robb
