Hey everyone! I'm planning my second trip to WDW right now, and I'm in need of some help.

Last year I visited during the third week in June (when crowds seemed to just begin getting really heavy) and stayed at the Port Orleans Riverside. I greatly enjoyed the hotel, but did get a bit frustrated with the bus transportation.

For this summer, I've saved up a bit of extra money to be able to afford staying at one of the Boardwalk hotels since their transportation options seem, by far, to be the best in the Resort, and the hotels themselves look amazing. However, I'm still not sure which resort to choose.

Right now it seems like it's between the Boardwalk, Beach Club and Yacht Club, since all are similarly priced. Even though the Swan or Dolphin would turn out to be cheaper with my AAA discount, those hotels don't offer the Disney's Magical Express service, which was, simply put, horribly convenient. I don't want to have to coordinate taxis or anything. So which should I choose?

Also, I now have the option of visiting in either the first week of June, when crowds will hopefully be lighter than later in the summer since most schools aren't out yet, or mid to late July. I'd assume that July would be more crowded, but Disney classifies July and August as being part of their "value season", so hotel prices are cheaper due to, presumably, less crowds (?). Any advice?

Thanks so much for your help

The hotels are cheaper during that time due to more crowds. More people means more competition, so they lower the price of lodging because everybody is looking for the best price. I would say the first week of June would be a considerably better time to go.

I'd stay at the Boardwalk. It's really nice and has a good location. I've stayed at the Dolphin, and didn't like it nearly as much (though the Blue Zoo restaurant in the hotel RULES).

Nothing apart from a slightly different architecture and colours, Beach Club is more cheery and Yacht Club is more grey and refined. Both give you access to the best resort pool in WDW, Stormalong Bay, I'm not sure you can access it with a Boardwalk Card. I think Beach Club or Boardwalk would be your best bet.

Stay at a hotel in the Magic Kingdom Resort area if you really want the best transportation options.
