DisneySea_Fan Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I was just wondering if you noticed that they changed all their signs to "Presented by Panasonic" instead of National Panasonic. I'm asking because in your 2004 Japan trip, the sign was changed. Is this temporary or did they actually go to the trouble of removing any thing with National on it. I think there were 3 signs with the sponsors' name on it. The main sign, the one by the queue, and when you're exiting. I guess my main question would be if they changed ALL their old signs with the old sponsor to "Presented by Panasonic" If you could provide any info on it, I would be delighted. P.S- How was Indy by the way? Better than Disneyland's?
rollermonkey Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 ^ Wow, you REALLY are a DisneySea fanatic! That's so esoteric! National and Panasonic are the same company, just different locality use. (National is Eurasia specific, but Panasonic is used in the everywhere.) Maybe they are trying to increase brand consciousness by limiting the use of the National name?
SharkTums Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 I think that the two Indy's are nearly the same ridewise. I would probably give the edge to the DisneySea one just because of the smoke ring effect and general better effects that actually work overall.
DisneySea_Fan Posted January 22, 2006 Author Posted January 22, 2006 What do you think the best ride at DisneySea is? I've heard JttCotE is good but some people said it didn't live up to the hype. I've rode Indy at Disneyland so I know this one will be good. How about the new ToT opening? Do you think it will surpass Indy? P.S- Is this ToT the most expensive ride ever built at TDS? I think Indy was around $120 million(correct me if I'm wrong).
SharkTums Posted January 22, 2006 Posted January 22, 2006 Journey is probably my favorite ride on Earth. I seriously LOVE it. Now from what I understand a lot of people love it, but think that Test Track is better, or think that it is a bit overrated. In my opionin Journey is EVERYTHING AND MORE! Plus I love the airtime you get out of the volcano! Tower should be great. The outside looks simply amazing! It's going to be interesting riding a tower of terror, that doesn't look like a tower of terror. Now saying all that...from what I understand it's basically a clone inside of DCA's tower, and I don't like that one nearly as much as MGM's so that will be a bummer if it's true. Not sure on all the costs of everything, but it's worth every penny!

They say the finale is not as exciting as ToT. Is it really better than Indy which people consider the best Disney ride. Do you think I should rebook my trip to after September to ride ToT or is it not worth it?
maliboomer Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 *scared* Sorry, I'm not trying to offend, but who gives a donkeys ass about whether is says National or Panasonic?
DisneySea_Fan Posted January 23, 2006 Author Posted January 23, 2006 *scared* Sorry, I'm not trying to offend, but who gives a donkeys ass about whether is says National or Panasonic? Forget about it then. Who here has ridden Journey to the Center of the Earth and thought it was the best ride ever?
rollermonkey Posted January 23, 2006 Posted January 23, 2006 DSF, don't let anyone spoil your fun! You asked a park related question. So far, no one has been able to answer it, but maybe a part time user hasn't seen it yet. If I get back there, I'd look around and see if I could tell, and I'm sure I'm not the only one around here.

Plus I love the airtime you get out of the volcano! I haven't been to Disney-Sea YET, but Journey is high on my list. If it's anything lik Test Track then I am sure to love it regardless, especially if there is some good air-time! From the Videos I've downloaded Disney Sea look slike a good thrill, the only problem is the cost of it all.
dubaidave Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 I DO believe JTCOT IS the best ride I have been on. I have not been to Disneland so Can not comment on their version of Indy. Journey wins, for me, hand down over test track. The themeing is better and the whole ride experience ids much more imersive and exciting. The airtime out of the volcano is fantastic. I rode it 10 times in a ow when I was there and I was not even vaugley bored with it.
s2pids2 Posted February 1, 2006 Posted February 1, 2006 The Indy ride in CA is good, but I haven't riden TDS's version either. I am sure they are probably the same in movement and story. The effects from the TDS version look way better though, thus another reason why I have to get my butt over there.
