johnhuger Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 Look guys, i'm planning on going to sf great adventure sometime in the first few weeks of summer vaction but i have a concern that if i don't buy a q-bot, i will have to wait terrible times. This visit will probably be a monday tuesday or wednesday. Can someone near the park (i'm back here in germany) inform on some insider tips on waiting times or even some day planning... is there a morning run to the Kingda Ka or El Toro? thanks john
GAcoaster Posted December 29, 2005 Posted December 29, 2005 On a Monday, Tuesday or Wednesday you probably won't NEED to rent the Q-Bot, but it might be a good idea if you want to make sure you get on everything. There is a mad dash for Kingda Ka every morning, and probably the same for El Toro. Since they're both on the same side of the park, it will probably be a HUGE running of the bulls next year. What month are you coming? If it's May or June, you'll probably be OK, but July and August get really crowded. As it gets closer to the date of your trip, check GADV.com, GAInsider.com or GAdvUpdates.com for more information on how crowded the park is, and advice from the locals. Batman The Ride- 1-2 hours Batman and Robin the Chiller- 1-2 hours Blackbeirds Lost Treasure Twain- 10 minutes El Toro- Will probably 2-3 hours Great American Scream Machine- 1-2 hours Kingda Ka- 4-6 hours Medusa- 1-2 hours Nitro- 1-2 hours Road Runner Railway- 10 minutes Rolling Thunder- 1/2-1 hour Runaway Mine Train- 1/2-1 1/2 hour Skull Mountain- 1/2-1 1/2 hour Superman - Ultimate Flight- 1-2 hour
CoasterCrazy Posted January 7, 2006 Posted January 7, 2006 When I went to SFGAV last June I got a Gold Q-bot, I wasn't done with the park until about 5:00 pm and I only rode all of the coasters once except for Chiller since it was closed. I highly recommend getting a Gold Q-bot if you can, it can be a life saver!
