No matter what they cosmetically change, I want them to fix the problem of boats stacking at the base of the lift!!!

you don't know the meaning of stacking on POTC, I was stuck on that horrible ride for an HOUR, the boats were stacked back to the first village scene...

Pirates is timeless for a reason, because it wasn't associated to anything. Once it becomes associated with something, it gets caught in a trap of being old or out of date. That's the one thing that worries me.

Wow very good point!!!! I never thought about this being timeless because of disassociation!!! You may be right about it getting old!! But then again think about it! Have all the other rides that were accociated gotten old yet. Like for instance Indiana Jones and the Temple of the forbidden eye? Or Startours? Well not to me because those movies that they associated them with were big hits such as POTC the movie!! I believe it will last for the rest of its operating life!

In terms of the Pirates thing, who knows. I felt a little weird about it at first, but maybe it'll be for the best. As long as it keep changing after this. Pirates is timeless for a reason, because it wasn't associated to anything. Once it becomes associated with something, it gets caught in a trap of being old or out of date. That's the one thing that worries me.

I'm not sure that becoming "out of date" will be much of an issue with these changes--just another new piece of pirate lore. Now if the sequels are duds, the biggest problem would be the embarrassment of having characters from a failed movie as an integral part of the ride.

Losing some of the ride's original music and another Paul Frees performance does give me some pause, but these aren't serious concerns.
