Nrthwnd Posted November 22, 2016 Author Posted November 22, 2016 And now. It's time for.... the Disneyland/CaliforniaAdventure/DowntownDistrict Souvenirs! Not as much foodstuffs as I picked up from Knott's. But definitely more PINS; New Ears!;a New T-shirt, Dude; and a really beautiful (to me) _____________ that was added to my Growing Collection. In time, all will be revealed. Here's everything but the Pins. They'll get their own posting, lol. All I got. Not a lot but a good Pin Haul, I must say! And those Mystery Things, too. (o; ~The Ears ~ ~ The Name On The Back of The Ears ~ ~ Where it now sits, upstairs ~ A little Toon Town Trolley (that's still running!). ...A Soarin' souvenir. ~ Soar, Mickey SOAR! Two fridge magnets; a small case that DIDN'T work for holding all those pins I bought , and... What my yummy DCA sundae arrived in. Now...probably for a plant or something? And that mystery package? It's - a - mug! A Castle Mug! And I loved it! It just felt Royal to hold the thing, let alone have coffee in it, lol! Top of the collection it went, along with the Knott's mug. The Knott's Blue Cobalt Glass mug went into a kitchen cupboard...... so when The Earthquake Happens, it won't fall off the rack! ... And that Crazy T-shirt. Mater said so, too! V Here we are, Me and my Main Machine! Sept.15,2016. A reminder of what was in this 'sink'
Nrthwnd Posted November 23, 2016 Author Posted November 23, 2016 It's All About Souvenir PINS now... I picked up a good number of pins on the trip, mostly from the Disney Resort. But - one from Magic Mountain, and three from Knott's as well as the Disney Pins. And - I wish all of the Disney Theme Resorts would take a cue from Tokyo Disneyland, and offer up Pin Bags with the drawstrings. The "bags" they offered at DLR were just too expensive and I didn't like how you had to store your pins in them (or ON them, with the netting inside and all). I had to improvise for a Pin Bag with this collection, and although it's working out... still want a Pin Bag, hmmmph. Here they all are... My Tokyo DL pin bags and one for Hong Kong DL. What I ended up using for the current haul. And the plastic is strong. (o; What I bought for the Disney Paris pins. Not great, but better than what they had at Disneyland Resort. IMhO. The SFMM pin. Which came attached to a postcard. Three pins from Knott's. I do like the Sheriff's Badge with my name on it. Sweet! The Disney Pins. All 11 of them. (o: Soarin' ~ Radiator Springs Racers ~ Luigi's Rollickin' Roadsters. The "Up" pin I found accidently. I always try and find a Year pin. And the Nautilus pin, because I didn't remember seeing a 20K attraction in DLR! So I had to have it, of course. (o; Can beads represent balloons? Well, why not? A very different Disney pin I felt. I got a few of what I call "Open Up" pins. They cost a bit more, but they're more intricate, too. Inside this one. I love the pic of Walt in there, with Mickey superimposed in it. The old retro Disneyland A-E Tickets booklet. The inside looks really really authentic. Like you could actually tear those tix out! Haunted Mansion. I totally forgot about checking out Nightmare pins. Silly bear I am. Inside...Where it's always nearly 13 o'clock. Love this one, as it's the first Disney pin I've found, with SHANGHAI on it! Inside: Mickey On The Go. The Panorama Monorail Pin. An accidental find. And it's already retro, as the SF Golden Gate Bridge spires are in there as well. Wish I found more of them. Next visit... (o;
Nrthwnd Posted November 28, 2016 Author Posted November 28, 2016 Today's The Day ~ The Mystery 2 Pins Pouch Shall Be Opened! So there's supposedly TWO PINS in this little pouch. We shall find out, eventually. (o;
Nrthwnd Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 The Hidden Mickey Mystery 2 Pin Pouch is Open! Not much else to tell. I finally opened this little thing after holding onto it for over two months, since the trip. And here's what I found.... Standing by, with scissors. Snip! They're out of the bag. Ta daaah! Wendy from Peter Pan...and a Tea Cup! And they'll go on my jean jacket, to show off! (o:
bert425 Posted November 29, 2016 Posted November 29, 2016 a bit random (I guess that's the point). I like the Wendy pin tho, even if I'd bet most folks wouldn't realize it's a Disney pin.
Nrthwnd Posted November 29, 2016 Author Posted November 29, 2016 ^ For my money, it's the Teacup > Wendy. Truth. And it was only around $5 for the pouch. And I really did get a kick out of seeing the Teacup, being one of the two random pins! So I will definitely buy them again, and in the other colors of pouches available, if they're still selling them when I return.
Nrthwnd Posted December 3, 2016 Author Posted December 3, 2016 The Vinylmation FROZEN Mystery Box is currently "on hold" from opening, until I get my camera back from the repair shop. Stuff happens, even to cameras. But the question remains... Did I get a Marshmallow, with Elsa's Crown on him? It's a one out of ten shot to get it. Next week... (I know that this is a sneaky way to get you to keep reading this TR, but what the heck? I'm old, forgetful, and ) So does Marshmallow find Elsa's Crown... or not? It awaits It's eventual ....release. (o;
Nrthwnd Posted December 8, 2016 Author Posted December 8, 2016 ~ Finally! Does He Get The Crown or NOT??? So I held onto this Vinylmation since mid-September, two months or so. And just earlier I opened the box up and found....... ~ Angry Marshmallow ~ No crown. No Elsa. He ain't a happy snowman. The End. Ready to reveal The Truth. But I will come in through 'the basement.' Curses! FOILed Again! Definitely the feet of the beast. And... Nope. No crown. No smile. A PO'ed Snowman I'd say. Thanks for tagging along, on this Epic Reveal. (o;
Nrthwnd Posted December 9, 2016 Author Posted December 9, 2016 ... and like before, Marshmallow ended up back where he started... The Trip Wrap-Up, Coming Up Next Week... Back on the chest, with "everybody else."
Nrthwnd Posted December 13, 2016 Author Posted December 13, 2016 "Now it's time to say goodbye, to all our company..." (Lyrics from The Mickey Mouse Club Goodbye Song) Well, it had to end some time. And well before Christmas Day too, heh. But the Trip Report is over, and all I can say is WOW. What a great trip! First of all, taking the train down and back was my best traveling decision. I had my own room, meals covered, and space to just get away from the train crowd, if I so chose to. I would definitely do it that way, again. Then there was the great room I had at Knott's Berry Farm Hotel. Perfect location and a free shuttle to the Disney Resort, too! A pool with a jacuzzi, walking distance to Knotts itself... and a Starbucks there, too! (There's a big one in Disney Village, too) There were things I was planning to do, and/or buy, but I missed out here and there. Like paying a visit to Trader Sam's Enchanted Tiki Bar. I need to go there, next visit. And since the Halloween stuff was starting to come out, get something/ANYthing to do with Scary Teddy from NBC. How I missed getting something like that, I can't remember. But next time.... THANK YOUS - to Robb, Elissa and SFMM and Knotts for a great West Coast Bash Weekend. I definitely want to return for it. And to Bryan for being my great ride up to, and back from Magic Mountain. And helping me get some credits taken care of, too. Much appreciated, Bryan. And many thanks to all of you, to those I met up with during WCB weekend, (hi Jeff! hi Andrew!) and to those of you for reading along with what I did, where I went, and what I enjoyed during my visit there. I hope you enjoyed what I posted, whether relevant....or not, lol. So everybody, Have a Happy Holiday Season, however you celebrate it...or not. Jingle, jingle. The last chocolate from my California Tour. Merry Merry to All!
Nrthwnd Posted February 6, 2017 Author Posted February 6, 2017 "Well, since it's been a couple of months now..." I finally decided to use one of the several Knott's Berry Farm Seasonings packets I brought back from the trip. And since it isn't one of the Dip Seasonings I still haven't used....Meat Loaf it is!!! Got all the ingredients together, put it together, baked it, ate it.....and totally forgot to take a finished photo! Oh well, the rest of it is safely frozen away, for a future carnivorous meal. Everything together, minus the celery. And the 2 eggs needed. *But no boysenberries, sadly. )o: Everything together, and in the fridge for a few hours. "Loafed." Or... A Very Big brain, Indeed. The Leftover. Bloodied with ketchup, brown sugar and soy sauce. To Be Eaten....Later. (o;
