verticalzero Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Which coasters do you think should have a "listed status" and saved from the demolition ball, when their life has expired.
CoasterCrazy Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 (edited) There are a lot more coasters than the ones I listed, these are just the ones that I can think of right now! EGF SROS at SFNE Nitro at SFGADV Beast California Screamin Mindbender at SFOG CannonBall at Lake Winnie Alpi at BGW Montu at BGT Nemesis at Alton Towers Balder Hades Jack Rabbit at Kennywood PR at Kennywood Phoenix at Knoebels Edited October 4, 2005 by CoasterCrazy
WillMontu Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Obviously the Cyclone (already a historic landmark) Magnum XL 200 PKI Racer (it did spark a revival) Matterhorn (first with steel tubular track) Revolution @ SFMM (first modern loop) The original Corkscrew (first modern corkscrew) Batman @ SFGA (the first inverted)
Hercules Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Cyclone is obvious, but of course, would they just let it sit there and take up space if it gets to the point that it isn't able to work? I would like to think: Phoenix Leap the Dips (it has already survived it before) Blue Streak (Conneaut Lake) Cyclone (William's Grove.... not looking too promising) Magnum XL-200 Jack Rabbit and Pippen/Thunderbolt (Kennywood) The Beast Batman The Ride at SFGAm Steel Force I think that is basically it for right now, off the top of my head
coasterguy618 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Coney Island Cyclone Borg Assimulator(or Stealth) Magnum XL 200 Revolution at SFMM Blue Streak at CP Leap The Dips That is all i can think of.
coaster1 Posted October 4, 2005 Posted October 4, 2005 Well the point of the National Historical Landmark thing is to save the structure from that, even if they aren't being used. Makes it alot harder for someone to destroy something if they have to go through all the red tape to prove the structure isn't worth saving or the status. Fair Park in Dallas has that protection, which is one reason the Cowboy's stadium could not be built there, since all the structures are protected by the state and the national government.
