So I didn't end up making it to my local amusement park, Wild Waves, this October for the Halloween event like I wanted to, so I am thinking about going for their Holiday event sometime this December/January. It looks like discount tickets are only 10 dollars, which is a great deal if they have a decent amount of stuff operating... The problem is that the info page on their website is a 404 not found. I can't tell if there will just be flats operating, or if the 3 non-kiddie coasters will also be running. I don't really care about the Wild Thing, which is way past its prime and super rough, but would like to go on Timberhawk and their wild mouse, Klondike Gold Rusher, again to see if they are any good. The last time I was there, all I remember was waiting in ridiculous lines for slides with my (now ex) girlfriend, and we went on Timberhawk once. I don't remember it being particularly thrilling, but I would like to try re-riding in different seats and see if there is more air time in the back, etc.

Does anyone know whether the coasters will be operating during the Holiday with Lights event? The only clue is that their schedule lists 'rides only' for the event, but doesn't specifically say which rides.

Also, if anyone is in the area and wants to make plans to check it out, let me know. I don't have any friends who would really want to go, I think I would just be dragging them along so I have someone to wait in line with haha

Hi!

I went last year with my friend, and had a pretty good time! There are a ton of lights that cover everything, it's really pretty! As I can recall, tickets are $12.99 on site and $9.99 online.

As for the coasters, last year Timberhawk, the kiddie coaster, and the Wild Thing were open. The wild mouse seems to be breaking down a lot, so there's no guarantee on whether it will be open or not.

I've ridden the Timberhawk in the very back, front, and middle and can conclude that the back has the best floater air. Ejector air? Sure, there's some. But it's not very forceful!

I'll probably be going with my friend this year. I'm not sure when.

On a side note, they should really begin vertical construction on that new slide tower...

Hey Zamperlafan, thanks for the response. I think I am definitely going to head down there at some time this season, it seems like it's the right time to go since I don't care for water slides anyway- the river rapids ride is fun, but that and the rest of the mediocre rides are not worth the high price during the summer.

Let me know via pm if you are up to having a third person when you go, it's likely that I will be working but possible that I can ask for the day off if I know in advance. I will probably just end up going spur of the moment when the weather cooperates, though.

It's nice to see someone talking about Wild Waves! Sure it's a rather dull park, but still...

Yes, I would highly reccomend going! The lights are beautiful, and the crowds are very light if you get there around opening. Unfortunately, near 8:30-9ish, some of the lines get very long. We're talking about a 40 minute wait for the back seat on Timberhawk! Be sure to show up early.

I'll let you know when/if we go! It'l probably be spontaneous though.

^ Have fun. I envy you being able to get to something

in a park for the holidays. All we have is the Aquarium,

a train ride in the big park, and light show in big in-city

gardens (Van Dusen).

Playland(PNE) stays closed.

And take photos, please! Much appreciated if you do.

I will try to get some pics, I broke my good camera recently... I really want to buy myself an Olympus TG-3 but can't justify it to myself quite yet. Waiting for snowboarding season, but maybe I will pick one up tomorrow...

Due to unforseen circumstances, I won´t be going to Holiday With Lights this year. :\

I hope you have fun! Definatley take pictures if you can!

Could you check the area where they´re supposed to be building the new slidetower? I´m curious if they´ve started any vertical construction or if its still flat dirt. If it´s not too much trouble of course! I´d be thankful! lol
