CoNNoR Posted February 19, 2014 Posted February 19, 2014 Hi guys, I've just been on my Facebook and someone has posted some pictures of the 1984 winter Olympic games park (I don't know which country it was in or what the park was called) and it got me thinking. Are there any Theme parks that have just been abandoned that you can walk through. so what I did then was look through TPR's forum index and I spotted a few posts but couldn't really find anything. Also from the parks I have seen. the images that you find are stunning as you can just Imagen what the parks were like in their hey-day, and that what's left of the parks/rides shows a creepy side to the whole thing. so if you know of and links or have any picture/ trip reports of this type of thing. Here's where you can post them and share it with the rest of us. Connor Walker
larrygator Posted February 20, 2014 Posted February 20, 2014 At TPR we do not condone trespassing, please do not post links to videos or pictures that were taken illegally.
Golddisk Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 I've seen some pictures of the former Six Flag New Orleans park, but those were taken illegally so I can't share the link. They were pretty interesting though. It's sad but also cool to see what happens to the parks once they are abandoned. As to your Olympic reference, virtually every Olympic complex falls into disrepair pretty quickly after they are over because there are so many facilities and no use for them. I remember reading somewhere that some of them are converted for other uses, but many are just abandoned. That's sad when you think of how beautiful some of the venues are and how much they cost to build!
Aceattack52 Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 It would be nice to have a list in the initial post of known abandoned theme parks and their locations of the ones in the US. The only ones I know of off the top of my head are SFNO and Bushkill Park in Pa.
larrygator Posted February 21, 2014 Posted February 21, 2014 Actually we already have a thread for this
