christianscoasters Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 A friend and I have a joke about maximum capacity on coasters and running 12 trains on Raptor at Cedar Point. Yes, 12 trains. Obviously, that's impossible. But it inspired me to try and make a coaster in NoLimits that is designed to run 12 trains. This coaster right here is the result of that. It can run 12 trains successfully. However, the more blocks/trains you have, the shorter each block section gets, resulting in a few brake sections at the end rather than more track. I reduced the train count to 10, as the capacity would be the same, if not better, with 10 trains rather than 11 or 12. A train leaves the station approximately every 18 seconds, resulting in a capacity of 2,400 riders per hour. With trains only seating 12 people, it's a very fast loading/unloading process. To compensate, I made two stations. One for unload, and one for loading. If NoLimits had the ability to move multiple trains at once like Maverick and Millennium Force, then that's what I would have gone with for this. Since that isn't an available feature, I instead made the trains move in/out of the station rather quickly. While I used a Schwarzkopf looping coaster, I didn't design it to be a "realistic" one. For all I care, this design could be a spinning coaster, an intamin, or anything like that. I just wanted to see if it was possible to create a coaster that runs 12 trains. I didn't create this to be the "next best coaster." I wanted a small, high-capacity ride, and that's what I created! When you open this up in the simulator, let it cycle for a few minutes. When you first start the ride, all of the trains are on the block brakes. After it cycles for a few minutes and every train has moved, the ride will continuously run without stopping on the block brakes. People Eater in Game ExchangeA coaster with a capacity of 2,400 pph. Noporian Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 Tbh if i was a small park and this was real, i'd buy it. Looks great.
jokey Posted November 28, 2013 Posted November 28, 2013 That is awesome!! Personally I think it would look more realistic as a Gerstlauer Bobsled Coaster but it still looks great!
christianscoasters Posted December 1, 2013 Author Posted December 1, 2013 ^^Actually, it could be perfect for any park! If you're looking for a family coaster, you could take out the barrel rolls. But because it's such a high capacity, it would be a great family ride in a large park but still small enough for a small park budget! ^Thank you! I tried it with the bobsled style cars. Yeah, it definitely does look a little more realistic
Aceattack52 Posted December 3, 2013 Posted December 3, 2013 Capacity isn't that important to a park. But with the being said, I would certainly install one if I owned a park.
christianscoasters Posted December 3, 2013 Author Posted December 3, 2013 Capacity isn't that important to a park. You're telling this to someone who works at Cedar Point

Capacity is very important. It may not be important to some parks, but most consider this greatly; especially parks that draw huge crowds.
