Woodie Warrior Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Next year (2014), I am planning on a road trip. My two top choices are either: Texas Trip: Includes Six Flags Fiesta Texas, Six Flags Over Texas, and SeaWorld San Antonio Midwest Trip: Includes Cedar Point, Kings Island, and another midwest park Which one is the best option, which dates would be best to go on either trip, and what other midwest park could work?
TyRush Posted May 19, 2013 Posted May 19, 2013 Well you have a tough desicion there! a) You get iRat, NTAG, and new Skyscreamer b)You get a great park with CP, not to mention Gatekeeper, and KI will more than likley get and epic coaster next year! cough...Iron Beast...cough cough If i were you depending on your history of credits, I would choose A
cmullin Posted July 14, 2013 Posted July 14, 2013 (edited) I finished a trip to KI, CP, and CW just a few weeks ago, and it was awesome! I definitely think that you should do Midwest trip, especially with KI's new coaster coming soon. I went to CW, but you might want to go to Holiday World instead, they have a great water park and two great wooden coasters. CW is fun, but it gets long lines and only has two really good rides, so its not necessarily worth the drive up there. And one last thing is GET FAST LANE! It is amazing and you can get in so many more rides than without it. Especially at CP, if you are only going to go once every 5 years or so, it is not even worth it without fast lane, and same for KI. Hope this helps! Edited July 26, 2013 by cmullin
Hriscay Posted July 25, 2013 Posted July 25, 2013 Living in Houston and no longer having a home park I generally make a trip to either of the 2 Six Flags at least once a year. I just recently got back from Six Flags Fiesta Texas. IRattler is amazing, but IMO to short, i honestly prefer NTG due to its length. Both parks usually are not at all busy on a weekday. I went to Fiesta Texas on a Wednesday and the longest wait was 30 minutes at their sky screamer, Irattler did have one of its trains close the front two rows halfway through the day unfortunately, but by that time half the crowd was at the water park so it didn't increase the wait for the other rows. Road everything several times. As for SFOT, i remember from my trip last year that the longest wait was for NTG, but still only about 45 minutes. Idk if i've ever been on a weekday where Titan wasn't almost a walk on by 2pm. I did hear that shockwave has gone down but i believe it should be back up and running by the time you go. Id wait until Six Flags releases their plans for next year because they may just add something major in the area near Gotham, this has been rumored but it could be as small as just a Zac-spin. I hope this helps, if you have any more questions feel free to ask, sorry i can't help about the midwest.
rdngmikey Posted July 31, 2013 Posted July 31, 2013 grand-texas-theme-park earthquest-developers-believe-dinosaur-park-not-extinct With two new Theme parks going up in Houston I'd keep an eye on opening dates and plan your trip accordingly, possibly doing the midwest trip next year and saving Texas for after the new parks open. Keep in mind Earthquest Adventures may not happen at all.
Hriscay Posted August 1, 2013 Posted August 1, 2013 Now I can't say this for sure but I'm almost positive Earthquest is never going to be built. This is due to the fact that Grand Texas pretty much is being built right down the road from where Earthquest would be, and because in the year I've heard about Grand Texas they have showed great potential for it to occur, Earthquest has made no progress in the 4 years I've know about it. That being said Grand Texas will not open up until 2015 so waiting until then does makes sense but if you go sooner you may not miss much. Before they took down their site, it showed that they would have a wooden roller coaster and a boomerang. Nothing amazing, but hey, something is something.
