glennderp
Hello Rob! I got a Go Pro Hero 3 a month back and the mount that I use is a Head mount. I want to record the coaster mounted on to the train of the coaster. What mount is perfect for mounting it to the coaster train?
SharkTums
^Most parks are not going to let a 14 year old come mount a gopro to their coaster train. Some parks will let you use the chest mount that you wear strapped to your body. I would start with that one.
glennderp
^Are suction cup mounts sturdy enough to go through roller coasters? I've been skeptical about that.
SharkTums
^It depends on the specific suction cup mount.

booink
^I've been on a coaster once with the suction cup mount for Go Pro (with park authorisation of course) and it worked well. Depending of the speed of the ride and the company, I'd suggest to duct tape the base of the mount. If it's a B&M, it'll be fine, but if it's a Togo, probably not ! If possible, I'd suggest to use other mounts like the roll bar or the handlebar ones, as they are more reliable, but the suction cup will work fine. robbalvey
Suction cup mounts will "work" in the sense that it most likely will not fly off if mounted correctly, you'll just get some horrible vibration and shaking from them as they aren't really meant for the type of forces most roller coasters produce. But like Elissa said, it's very unlikely that many parks are going to let you just walk up and put any sort of mount on a train.

robbalvey
^ What is the point of this post? Are you just trying to be an asshole and "prove Robb Alvey wrong" or something? Yes, I said a suction cup mount will work, but I don't suggest it and you'll get shaking JUST LIKE YOU SEE IN THAT VIDEO!!!! I shot Formula Rossa with a suction cup mount. Don't treat me like I don't know WTF I'm talking about or something and show me a video of how well a suction cup mount works after I said I didn't recommend it. You're being rude and obnoxious. Just letting you know. --Robb "I'm sure the guy with 25 coaster credits knows more than me." Alvey. Edited June 13, 2013 by robbalvey
