zachclarke2
^&^^ Thank you! Alrighty, sorry for the waiting, I made a B&M hyper about two weeks ago (Mindbender-type model is next). The video is on my YT page if anyone wants to check it out, I'll post some pictures in the coming days. ^ I'll do my best to answer some of your stuff.... 1. Yes. There were Raptor statix once upon a time. I think CD has "discontinued" or momentarily stopped making the inverted trains or something like that. Best to ask an employee. All I know is that they just kinda disappeared. The Alpengeist and Talon ones have disappeared as well. 2. No. If they did, it was in the shop and just for funsies. They never marketed them though. I have never made a flying train; I would be too afraid I'd screw it up, therefore I will not make one. JohnnyUpsidedown has made quite a few if you want to check his out. 3. The SeaWorld/Busch parks have stopped ordering stuff from CD I believe, BGE has not had CD stuff for a good while, although when I went to BGT in April, they had some SheiKra trains (I bought one), but those may have been leftover. I am not positive though. If you email the park they'll tell you if they have any, if they do they will ship you one. If they don't have any, I'd say your best bet is to check Ebay every once and a while. 4. No clue on this one, although I thought I remember Jack mentioning something about a model. Maybe this helps: But that could have just been them messing around in the shop. Not sure. 5. You used to be able to buy different colored flex track on their website, but I just checked and it's not there. I suggest emailing them. 6. I personally have not. But if I go to CP this summer I will most certainly buy a Gatekeeper statix and start building wing models. Any chance you could post a couple pictures of the Gatekeeper model? And also, if you could do a size comparison to the Millennium Force or Maverick trains that would be absolutely fabulous. Hope I was half helpful. ECZenith
When I get home after the weekend I'll take some photos of the trains I picked up. They started selling them online in the marketplace for $35.00. That Gatekeeper picture is great! I hope they really make a set, I know many people would buy them. http://marketplace.cedarpoint.com/GateKeeper-Train-Replica--P1124C140.aspx
zachclarke2
^Alright, thanks! The Mindbender-ish model is coming next, but I'm in the Outer Banks for the week, so it'll be at least until after that before I can build a new model. But anyway...I'm about 2 and a half weeks overdue on this one, but here ya go: It has an inversion! ***behold***
zachclarke2
I'm back! Although, I am unhappy to report that the Schwarzkopf model did not work out. I tried (for 4 hours actually) to get the shaping, pacing, scaling of Mindbender/Shockwave and I could not. So, instead I ended up making a pretty wonky little B&M sitdown model. It starts with a diving turn and a loop, and ends with a couple drops and turns that would probably kill you in real life. I've said enough - nobody reads this stuff anyway. FYI - the next model is going to be a wing coaster.
Her0ofLime
^ Yay,it's done! The ride looks awesome to me! I understand how it was hard to get the feel for the style of Schwarzkoph, as that's pretty hard to do, but it came out pretty good!
zachclarke2
^I wasn't going for Schwarzkopf at all with this one (if that's what you're saying), but I'm glad you like it.
zachclarke2
I present Nemesis Inferno! By far the best recreation I've done. Not perfect, but still oodles better than my Patriot model. The scaling is pretty good, as well. Now, comment!
mwoods244
I don't usually comment on these boards, but these models are fantastic. The Nemesis Inferno recreation is spot on and is pure sex. Great job and keep them coming. I second the Intimidator 305 Kings Dominion recreation!
zachclarke2
^Thank you kind sir! But, as I have said before, an I305 model would be impossible for me unfortunately. I don't have near enough track and the trains don't have near enough efficiency (without heavy modification). Maybe at some point I'll do a mega-lite type model of sorts. Not sure. ECZenith
Zach, beautiful work as always! For people in the know, I know sometimes CD staff visit here sometimes... Will you be making Banshee Statix replias for PKI next year? I know the inverted train replicas always sell out, I've never been able to grab a Raptor, Talon or Alpengeist train as they sell out quick. If I could get a heads-up on this I'd appreciate so I can be ready to buy one! I have a ton of track I painted purple last year and lots of blue supports... Any word on if CP will release a working gatekeeper model or can we confrm that was just them messing around in the shop?
zachclarke2
Thank you as always! I don't believe the inverted trains sell out quickly (not recently at least) as they've been 'discontinued' of sorts. No parks have had them for at least the past 4 years or so. But, I'm sure if the park asks for them CD would make them. There has to be a good amount of interest though, so if anyone wants one I suggest you contact the park and ask for them. I've emailed KI, hopefully they respond.
ECZenith
^ I emailed KI, as well as Busch Gardens, Carowinds, Canadas Wonderland and Knotts questioning if they will release/release somew new coaster dyanmix statix models. PLEASE SUPPORT THIS and email the park showing you would like to see these models for sale. It would be great if CP rereleased Raptor, BG rereleased Alpengiest, and the other parks made trains for Afterburn, Behemoth, Leviathan, and Silver Bullet. If enough people support it maybe it will happen! To CD staff who may be on the board, have you had any requests from parks this year to make some new Statix trains? The49er
^What happened to the Statix trains? Also, their B&M kits are always out of stock. Is the company still going?
ECZenith
They still make a lot of the static trains but kits with track like sheikra and griffon I believe were a limited run. So far I have received responses from kings island and Canada's wonderland. KI says there are no immediate plans for Banshee train static models but that could change. Canada's wonderland has passed my request to upper management to consider contacting CD about Behemoth and Leviathan speed coaster trains. Time will tell! zachclarke2
Interesting. The person who responded to my email was less than helpful. I asked about the trains, and when Banshee stuff was going on the online store. His response was basically "I don't know and I don't know." I just emailed CW about them. Because, more people that seem interested = more likely the product will be created. Anyway, hope for a new model next week, likely an inverted with a little Banshee thrown in. ECZenith
Sea World responded back to me via email this week, they said they have been considering contacting CD about trains for Kraken and Manta. As far as I know, CD has not produced a flying coaster train to date. They said they will email me again if they decide to sell them in the park. zachclarke2
New model in the works. Should be finished with a video by the weekend :} (sorry for the crappy cell phone pic)
zachclarke2
OK, so it's not Banshee, but these things hardly turn out as I plan anyway. It's a custom invert with a zero-g, immelmann, and corkscrew.
ECZenith
Looks great! I'm starting my wing coaster today, here we go again...
zachclarke2
Thanks! Looking forward to the wing model. I still don't have one, Cedar Point is taking forever to restock.
coolkid
Maybe you should make a wing coaster model like ECZenith.
hillflyer
WOW finally got through watching all of them. Really fine job. I'll bet this is a LOT more fun than trying to recreate an original that won't run.
zachclarke2
Thank you! They may be more 'fun', but your models are far more amazing than these are, the detail and realistic-ness you're putting into them more than makes up for the fact that they don't run in my opinion. ^^I really wish I could, but I can't get my hands on a Gatekeeper train. But, when (if) I acquire one, I will most certainly start making wing models.
zachclarke2
New invert model! Pretty small and short...but OK nonetheless. It's loosely based off of Great Bear and Top Gun (CGA). Next model will likely be a launched sitdown, but I am never sure.
coolkid
That zero-g roll is taken like the Banshee teaser, but it's nice to see a Coasterdynamix coaster with a brake run.
