A.J. Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 Hey guys! So, this Preview Thread should be used for projects that aren't made in the RCTs or NoLimits. So, basically, use this thread if you have a K'nex project or physical model, Inventor or other straight CAD project, a project in another creative game like Minecraft, or something else entirely. For example, here's a project I'm working on to get me back into Inventor -
viking86 Posted November 18, 2012 Posted November 18, 2012 I once made a working KMG Move-It 24 style ride in ProEngineer. It was not detailed at all, just block shapes as my main focus was making it work. I had a lot of fun though.
coasterkyle Posted November 19, 2012 Posted November 19, 2012 I was just thinking, there should be a thread like this. This is my idea of how you should enter Gatekeepers line. The rough dimensions are 20ft wide by 14ft tall. Also here is my idea for a Gemini sign if the ever gave the ride one neither project is done
SoCalCoasters Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 ^What program did you use to create that?
A.J. Posted December 10, 2012 Author Posted December 10, 2012 I used Inventor to make the slide panels, supports, pool, and platform. I exported it as an AutoCAD DWG and then imported the DWG into Maya. From there, I built an environment around it and assigned textures properly.
traincrossin Posted December 10, 2012 Posted December 10, 2012 Did you make the slide panels individually or is there a way to warp them to a specific size and shape?
A.J. Posted January 26, 2013 Author Posted January 26, 2013 Looking for a "more intuitive" alternative to Maya for general modeling purposes... ...not at all motivated by a certain sandbox-style theme park video game releasing in the next few months...
traincrossin Posted September 25, 2013 Posted September 25, 2013 Was messing around with Solid Edge and made a dark ride vehicle and some mat slides, not terrible for a first try.
