Well since I wasn't having much luck in the Magic Mountain thread, and I can't find any threads specifically about this park, I figured I start a new post.

I will be visiting this park this coming Thursday with my very good friend Jesse. I have HH included on my season pass as well as a bring a friend free coupon, so this won't cost us anything. But I am a fan of watersides and every time I come to SFMM I say to myself "man sometime I wanna go and check that place out"... Well, now's our chance.

We are planning to be on property from SFMM opening to closing, 10:30am till 9pm. Sometime in there we are thinking of spending 3-4 hours at Hurricane Harbor. I was hoping someone would be able to give some insight and tips on what slides are worth a 15-30 min wait, which ones we should just not bother with, and which ones we really shouldn't skip. Also any tips on what time of day would be best? So far I am thinking if we head in around 3-4pm, till they close, then back into MM for a few hours, is this a good plan? Thanks alot!

If you can rearrange your eating time, between like 4-7 may be good because it will still be hot but will also be dinner time in both parks.

The only ride I really recommend is Tornado. That's the only one I would put up a wait in.

The Taboo Tower (or the big white tower) has some really fun speed slides if you can hit that.

Black Snake Summit (the black tower) doesn't have anything too impressive except Venom Drop. That usually has a really short wait because no one is man enough to do it. It's not a unique ride and last time I went down it I got major marks on my back from the cracks in it, so I don't wanna recommend it but its there....

When walking into the park, there is a lounge area to the left with a small tower by it called Lizard Lagoon. That one has some really fun speed slides if the wait isn't too bad.

Other than that, SFHH really offers ton of tube slides. There are so many that it gets old because to me they all feel the same.

In conclusion, Tornado is the best, while Taboo Tower has some really fun individual speed slides. All if the tube rides are the same to me so pick the one with the shortest line!

And don't worry about Bamboo racers. Way too overrated and very boring.

If you really want to get on everything, get a Flash Pass for $20 per person.

And isn't the free friend ticket only valid for weekdays in June and August?

Hurricane Harbor has Flash Pass now right?

GET IT!

That place is scary during the summer. I really worry that you'll have 30 - 60 minute lines for everything. The family raft ride is usually the worst. Try to see how many rafts they're running before you get in line. There aren't any special or stand out slides here. What other water parks have you been to, then I can give you a better idea of what to do.

I'm pretty sure your thinking of the Magic Mountain one? I believe the HH one included weekdays in July, I'll verify when I get home [Dammit now I'm worried!] There is no MM coupon for free friend in July, only 50% off weekdays in July.

We May get a Flash Pass if it's worth it, hopefully it will be a slow Thursday.

And thanks Xceleratorfan96, that's the kind of insight I was looking for!

Thanks for the advice Elissa! I'm hoping it wont be bad the 2nd half of the day on a Thursday, but we will see. The only water park I have been to is Raging Waters in San Jose. I went to Manteca water slides when I was a lot younger but don't remember much of it. Oh and Boomerang bay at CGA, but for some weird reason I didn't go on the slides, only the wave pool and endless river? I don't remember why...

There are no slow days at HH. I went on an overcast Sunday in the beginning of June and the place was packed. That's why I always try to visit SFMM on very hot days, as more people are at HH. There is a noticeable difference. But that flash passover actually be worth it. I think you still have to wait for a tube though. But you get to skip the line to get on the tower. Not sure how it works exactly...
