I'm going to be visiting the city of Bruxelles pretty soon and I figured, since stores are closed on Sundays, that would b a good day to hit up a park...

I looked at RCDB and I can't decide which of the nearby parks seem most promising... So I figured I'd ask you guys!

Where should I go? Keep in mind I need there to be a convenient way to get there from Bruxelles, and that it won't be too long of a ride (I can't spend 4 hours traveling in each direction just to get to a park).

The best park is Efteling, Well it's not near Bruxelles or even in Belgium! You can get there by train and bus. Train: from Bruxelles to Roosendaal(NL) then transfer to a train towards Tilburg and then transfer to bus 168(direct line towards the Efteling).

This would take about 2 hour of travel to get there.

Other options are:

Walibi Belgium: well i don't like that park very much. But haven't been there for about 7 years. So maybe it;s better now.

Bobbejaanland: For me the most complete park in Belgium.

Plopsaland de Panne: More of a family childrens park, but they have an amazing Gerslaurer called Anubis!

I've never crossed country lines via bus/train before... is it complicated? Do I need to bring a passport, fill out forms, and such? Or is it simple, since it's Europe?

It's simple, you just sit your butt in the train. And that's it!

Edit: Still need to take your passport with you, ofcourse. Since youre still in a foreign(is that correctly typed?) country. You just got to love those open borders in Europe!

If you're looking for something easy to do, try taking the train to Bruges for a day. It's nicer than Brussels. Rumor has it you can even track down some hard-to-find Belgian beers there. If fairytale medieval cities aren't your thing, try Bobbejaanland. It's a fun, quirky little park that is much better than Walibi Belgium.

Thanks Right now the big fight is between Efteling and Bobejaanland.

By the way, if anyone has any other interesting tourist traps or stuff I have to try to suggest - be my guest. I love an interesting attraction.

^That's a tough call because the two parks are so different. Efteling is a bit more "awe inspiring" due to its setting and more "Disney like," while Bobbejaanland is so wonderfully quirky. I think I'd lean toward Efteling (and spend the night in their hotel if you can swing it--great place).
