SharkTums Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Hey there! With our move to Orlando came some fun new opportunities for KT this summer. I see that Sea World offers a day camp program for kids her age and she seems really interested. I know *NOTHING* about it though and was wondering if anyone on the boards had ever taken part in the Sea World or Busch Gardens day camps as a young kid or sent a kid or maybe saw the little kids during the summer. Just trying to figure out how much they're outside, what they feed them, if they do rides, etc. Let me know, thanks!
robmiester Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I personally haven't, but one of my good friends did it every year at SWSD and eventually did counselor-in-training work there. Based on what she said, it's an incredible experience for the kids, considering that there's a lot of great animal interaction opportunities alongside the normal camp activities like arts and crafts and games. From what she said, they're outside pretty often, either in the park or playing games. As far as rides go, she mentioned that they weren't doing them all that often. but they were in the park pretty often with the animals. Based on what she's told me of her experiences, I'd assume that the day camps that they offer are highly-recommended.
scbt Posted April 24, 2012 Posted April 24, 2012 I don't know anything about this, but from what i saw looking at it, it seems pretty cool. i wish i could have gone to something like that, when i was younger. Also, one of the most important things i found out at a summer camp is shade, if its a hot day and there is no shade, you get really irritable and its just no fun.
SharkTums Posted April 24, 2012 Author Posted April 24, 2012 ^^Thanks! I'm really thinking we'll go for it, I mean, it's Sea World Camp, that just rules! If anyone else has info, please post!
