A.J. Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 (edited) Hey guys! Since we're a games/models community, I'm sure there are some K'nex enthusiasts out there! Cedar Point hosted this neat competition to build coasters out of K'nex, and now there are some designs being voted on for "fan favorite". If you're into K'nex, I highly suggest checking THIS link out and voting for your favorite. All of those designs were made by grade school (!) students. Check them out if you're interested. That contest is a great way to promote early-life creativity, and it's freaking roller coasters made out of K'nex! That automatically makes it cool! Edited April 22, 2012 by A.J.
darklingscribe Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 That's really cool. I spent many an afternoon playing with K'nex as a kid, so to have my school do this would have been my idea of heaven back then. The entries look pretty good. I voted for Mythos just because you don't see that many racing/dueling k'nex coasters out there.
RCT2day Posted April 22, 2012 Posted April 22, 2012 I too voted for Mythos. By far, it was the most realistic and just a great idea for a K'Nex.
Commando Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Not to promote other sites but for all of you knex fans out there: http://www.sscoasters.net The guy who built mythos posted a thread on here a while ago. dont know where it went though. Mythos was a very good coaster. I believe he had a mechanism to sync the trains and the shaping was excellent. The problem with entering is that its supposed to be for schools only. So individual builders had a hard time getting in last year. This year they where more lenient and got better entries. If you really want to see the best knex coasters out there. check out some of the contest on the site above. some of the guys out there do amazing things with knex.
Knexrule11 Posted April 23, 2012 Posted April 23, 2012 Just a reminder. You can vote once a day per email. Vote every day you can!
Knexrule11 Posted April 25, 2012 Posted April 25, 2012 The contest just ended. "The Scream" won. Sad to say that me or Project CP didn't win.
A.J. Posted April 25, 2012 Author Posted April 25, 2012 Yeah, it's kind of a drag that a model that can only be built if it's staggered on those tables like that wins a fan favorite vote.
