  1. I don't think you realize how long a century is. By the time the next century arrives, we'll all be dead. I could see it staying for the next decade or maybe two, but there's no way Corkscrew (or any other coaster for that matter) would be kept for that long. Corkscrew is not a popular coaster by any means, in comparison to Wild Thing, Renegade or Steel Venom. Its a saying lol, don't take it literally. It just means "I seriously doubt it's leaving anytime soon". Also Corkscrew can have a very long line during busy times of the season and haunt, it might be unpopular if you compare it to bigger/new rides, or corkscrews at different parks. But in no way is it unpopular enough to get removed just do to poor demand. I mean honestly, you can say Corkscrew is a walk on most of the time, but Renegade is often a walk on too. It depends on how busy VF is, not the ride. Plus if we got rid of every ride that wasn't popular in comparison to Wild Thing, Renegade, and Steel Venom, our park would consist of only Wild Thing, Renegade, and Steel Venom lol.
  2. I seriously doubt we'll get rid of corkscrew in the next century. Until we're at a park status like Cedar Point where we don't have room for more rides, we aren't going to remove a popular coaster. Also I've ridden a Zamperla Air Race and I personally wasn't thrilled, was probably on the lower end of all the flat rides I've ridden. I just didn't really think the concept was very fun. I could see the wave getting removed in 5-10 years, but logically VF wouldn't remove it until they NEED that land, and at the moment we've got plenty of other land we could use (Wild Thing turn around, space between AA's and the amphitheater, and the amphitheater, old tilt-a-wirl location, need I go on?). If it did they would have to replace it with a front-of-the-park friendly ride that would have a "wow" factor to guests walking in. Plausible but I double we will see it happen till we utilize of other pieces of land.
  3. Seeing that you are located in LA, you don't like Silver Bullet? Or just suggesting it for the kicks? Its a good idea, but sadly that satellite imagery is out of date. The Antique Autos were removed after the 2012 season and Dino's were put in their place (Dino's are in the area you showed, and the picnic area on the other side of High Roller's turn around). Antique Auto's were re-added for the 2014 season replacing the Go-Karts. I think our Dino's contract is done around 2018, so I doubt we'll be getting anything in that location anytime soon :-/
  4. I totally agree with this. I have noticed that Valleyfair has been getting significantly more busy in the last couple years. I think VF knows what they have to do to draw in more people, although that may not be a coaster in 2015, or even 2016, they are going to keep adding stuff that is in favor of the growth of the park and satisfying its customers. I can't even imagine how many more people I know would go to the park if we got a new slide tower with "super scary" slides. I think a waterpark upgrade for next year would be a very smart move on Valleyfair's part.
  5. Honestly I would be happy with any coaster we get in the next few years as long as it isn't a shuttle or super short. Lightning Run would be a cool coaster to have in the park, and it would fit in with the last few upgrades we've gotten (geared towards family). But since we already have Wild Thing which has the same track and includes airtime and such I would think they would try to steer clear of that and get something unique so it won't look like we have two of the same coaster (less appealing to the GP and harder to advertise). Not to mention Excalibur is basically a 25 year old Lightning Run. Side note: I'm not saying "I think they would try to get something unique" because I hope they will get something bigger or better, or because I personally want something different, that is just me saying "I personally am not sure they would get a coaster that has lot of features similar to coasters they already have". Fixed it for you. Also, how come an Intamin, Premier, S&S, Mack, etc couldn't fill "that void"?
  6. The video said "Take one last stand". Then in the press release it says "SANDUSKY, Ohio (Sept. 2, 2014) – It’s the “last stand” for one of Cedar Point’s steel scream machines." and "Guests still have time to give Mantis a “standing ovation” before it shuts down permanently on Sunday, October 19 at 8 p.m." (and the quotation marks were IN the actual press release, I only added the bold text). I really doubt its being removed, with all these hints I would assume its just the rumored conversion and they're just playing with the GP like SFMM did with Colussus. Plus we're pretty sure we're getting a waterpark expansion this year, so even if Mantis was removed it wouldn't come here.

  10. Hey everyone! I'm sure some of you have heard of the K'NEX/Cedar Fair Great Thrill Ride Build-Off, it's a contest that in the past two years has been hosted by K'NEX and Cedar Point. The winning models were displayed at Cedar Point for the season. Now this year they have expanded it to Valleyfair, Cedar Point, and Dorney Park. I entered a coaster this year called Rimpac based off a Mega-Lite, and I'm one of the 3 finalists (my model will be displayed at Valleyfair this season). They are now voting for the "Fan Favorite" model, which wins: I thought I would post it on here as I'm sure you coaster enthusiasts would like to see the cool models and vote! I would love for all of you to look at the 3 coasters and vote for your favorite, every vote counts! You can vote 1 time per email per day. VOTE HERE! Vote away!
  11. The contest just ended. "The Scream" won. Sad to say that me or Project CP didn't win.
  12. Just a reminder. You can vote once a day per email. Vote every day you can!
  13. Great coaster, if I wasn't entered in this contest. I would definitely vote for you. I was wondering why you decided to use micro K'NEX this year, now I know why! Good idea, and good luck! KR11
  14. It looks pretty good so far Connor. Make sure the supports are strong. And don't forget the gears.
