Ok gang. I have this trip to Hershey next week. I have been looking for deals on the internet for tickets, as with the gas crunch, we all are looking to save a few bucks. Well I came up upon Ebay and a gentleman selling 4 tickets for at the time $10 (there was still 3h left in the auction.) I discussed it with my hubby. Normally the cardnial rule of theme parks is NEVER buy your tickets on Ebay (Disney especially) and he said go fo it, just dont spend any more than $70. Now mind you, this would get us in all 2 days of our trip. So I bid and I was high bidder at $25 for most of the auction. I ended up winning it at $41.01. I was quite surprised. Thats 10 bucks a ticket. The guy emailed me immeadietly following the auction and said he was going to overnight them to me as the trip is next week.

Now the question, is there anyway to verify them? If they are authentic, I think I got a pretty sweet deal (no pun intended). Will I do it again..probably not. But is served its purpose. But I could use the combined wisdom of the members of this board.

I don't know how Hershey does it, but if there was any kind of barcode showing on the ticket the park can deactivate them. If the Ebay picture dind't have any kind of sequence or number the tickets should be just fine. Did you check the guys feedback? I'm sure you'll be fine. These were probably just consignment tickets that are expiring soon and the person won't be able to use so he's selling them.

As long as you paid with Paypal and used a credit card I don't think there is much risk. If the tickets did turn out to be fake, the worst case scenario is that you could just pick up a coupon for $6 off ahead of time just in case and then pay at the gate and when you get home, do a credit card chargeback (if the seller or Paypal won't give you your money back).

I think the reason the tickets went for so cheap was that the park is only open for 2 more weekends (I don't understand why they close so early) before the Halloween events start so there isn't much time left to use the tickets.
