PhishyBrewer Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Every Labor Day weekend, Old Sacramento turns into the old west for Gold Rush Days. People dress up like they would of way back then and travel by horse on dirt roads. It’s fun to watch these folks in action. They really get into there characters. Since we were in Old Sac, we decided to stop at Joes Crab (Crap) Shack. Why do we go there? I have no idea. I hate the place. Anyway… Enjoy! It may look good, but this meal can kill you! Thank God! Gavin thinks this place sucks so bad, it's funny. The only thing I wanted when I sat down. A beer... imagine that. Gavin waits for Joe's to open. Let us in! I want to eat your crappy fried food! The Money Store and Joe's Crab Shack. Go about 4 miles south down the river and you'll find my house. The Tower Bridge and the Sacramento River. Downtown Sacramento From above. Old city in the foreground and the big city, downtown Sac, in the background. A wagon train. Local merchants. My favorite burger can been found here at Fanny Anne's. It has peanut butter and peppers on it. Very tasty! Got any herb? Sacramento is like the train capital of the US. I don't think this guy should have a gun. Where's Clint Eastwood? Gold Rush Days in Old Sacramento
SLUSHIE Posted September 5, 2005 Posted September 5, 2005 Wow, I've lived here my whole life and never knew they did that. The streets look awsome with dirt on them. Did they do that for this thing? or have they been like that for a while now? When I'm in Downtown Sac I'm usualy at Hard Rock Cafe. My friend told me about Franny Ann's and the penut butter burger. We were going to make a trip over there and get one sometime. We never did.
PhishyBrewer Posted September 6, 2005 Author Posted September 6, 2005 ^They cover the roads with dirt just during Gold Rush Days. It makes it easier to pick up the horse shit.
What Now Posted September 6, 2005 Posted September 6, 2005 I remeber going to Old Town Sacremento as a kid. I especially remember that train museum that's there.
