Hey coaster-mates.

I had a pure awesome day at Djurs Sommerland!

I even got to speak with the owner of the park, Henrik B. Nielsen. We talked about future rides and such things. He also gave me a ride on Piraten where i didn't have to wait the 45 min. queue.

- He took me to the exit of Piraten and then i just jumped on the next train

He is very friendly and said that i was welcome to come with ideas for further attractions.

On to the photos...

They are all located in my Facebook album, including a description to every picture: http://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.2253572464636.134124.1408035460

Here's a HD POV video of Piraten. Please note that this video where taken in the end of the day where the track is all warmed up and i must say, that it was noticeable more intense!

I was there thursday i think it was. Very nice park, but the crowd was just HUGE! From 13 to 21 I only managed to get 3 rides on piraten and 1 on the new water coaster. I think we waited over an hour for Thor's hammer. The park definitely need some more major high capacity rides.

So what did he say about future rides??

I will agree with you that the park sometimes gets very crowded, especially in Piratland (the area where Piraten is located).

I can't talk too much to you guys about future rides. But i can say that the owner of Djurs Sommerland has been on a visit in Alton Towers, to get inspired...

Nice TR, sounds like you had a great time. Tell the owner that you can't go wrong with an Intamin Woodie!

Thank you! I had a really great time!

Heh, danish roller coaster enthusiasts and me has spoken to him about both Intamin, The Gravity Group and GCII Woodies. But he doesn't seem to be that impressed. He is a bit scared if a Wooden coaster will make to much noise, because the noise limits in the park's location is very strict.

Out of all coasters in Alton Towers I would actually prefer Rita. But then he could just have gone to Heide Park, much closer. So I'm guessing hes been checking out thirteen. (but I'm hoping not)

Personally I think they should go with an Intamin Jetski coaster, thrilling for the whole family!

Would also like to se an Intamin Gyro Drop around 70 meters, but as with all danish parks, there most be some stupid height restrictions.

^ I'm 90 % sure that's he was inspired by Thirteen, at least that's my theory..

Yeah!!! I would LOVE an Intamin JetSki Coaster, it would fit perfect into the park. Maybe with a unique layout.

Also the drop tower subject has been discussed allot in Djurs Sommerland as that is a huge 'need' in the park, but the height restriction is 40 meters SOMEWHERE, other areas the height restriction can be even lower, like 20 meters...

Anyway, i would like to see a Intamin Gyro Drop tower just digged in to a hole in the ground so that the tower could still be high and thrilling.

Do you wanna PM me what the owner said about future rides?

I won't tell anybody. I'm gonna move to Århus to my girlfriend, so Sommerland along with Friheden will be my homepark.

It's a shame about the height restrictions!

Zamperla's new Vertical Swing park model is 40m tall, and I found it to more than enough thrilling, of course it's not gonna be as thrilling as Tivoli's 80 meter monster, but Sommerland is more of a family park.

This would be a great addition.

Also a pirate themed Splash Battle to the right of the watercoaster.

And since the water attractions are so popular, maybe an Intamin Spillwater is to consider, like Yucatan in Rainbow Magicland.

But I'm just guessing, it would be nice to hear some real info, so please, feel free to PM me

^ I will PM you as soon as i can.

I hope you will like Århus, it's a great city.

The Vertical Swing looks pretty fun actually!

Also, i don't think that water rides is going to show up these next years as they got plenty. Well maybe their water park area needs some new slides. I would like to see a Tupsy Turvey from Pro Slide, in their water park.
