RCT3 A Photoheavy TR from Wonderland Theme Park

Inspired by coasterdude5's Six Flags South Carolina trip reports, I have decided to create trip reports from my RCT3 Theme Park Wonderland using his "first person", POV style. If people seem to like it, I will do more TRs as my park is continuing to evolve and there is always stuff going on at Wonderland I want to share with others.

Here goes:

Today I visited Wonderland Theme Park. I didn't ride any rides except for The People Mover, the Wonderland Train and Ridge Runner because my intention was only to get photos of the park for all of you. Many of you are unfamiliar with the park and since this is my first trip report introducing the theme park to most of you, I have decided to simply provide a park overview. Subsequent trip reports will include more details, including reviews of the rides.

Yes, this is very photo heavy, so please beware.

Upon entering Wonderland you are greeted with Main Street. Here are some shots immediately upon entering the park.

View from the opposite end of main street, looking back towards the main entrance

Halfway up you get a great view of the People Mover Main Street station that takes you on an elevated trip around the park. Behind the People mover station is an area behind construction walls. It used to be home to a Industrial themed food court. The entire area including the land occupying the people mover station and the Turn of the Century Roller Coaster used to be industrial themed. This area has all been taken into the Turn of the Century Main Street Theme.

To the left is the Turn of the Century Arrow roller coaster.

Coaster as seen from the People Mover platform

To the right is the entrance to Adventureland. Let's head there first

Adventureland is very lush and a bit mysterious as you first enter.

The first ride on your left is the Indiana Jones Arrow mine train rollercoaster

General view of adventureland

Further back in Adventureland is the Jurrasic Park sub-land. First is the pteranodon flyers suspended mini coaster.

Then the Jurrasic Park boat ride.

Past the boat ride is the Arabian town themed area that includes Cheetah Run launched suspended coaster, Volcano the Ride suspended coaster and the Flying Carpets flat ride. Was in a time crunch so had to bypass the area.

Next stop is the Paradise Pier beach boardwalk. Plenty of flat rides and a great wooden coaster The Big Dipper. Here are some shots.

The next themed area is the Medieval Alpine Village. Here you will find the Ice Dragon Arrow suspended roller coaster, Sky Hawk and Flying Unicorn flat rides (a Skywheel and Swings ride).

Views of the area from the lift hill of the Ridge Runner roller coaster (also a part of this land)

Speaking of Ridge Runner

Leaving the Medieval Alpine Village you see great vistas of Tomorrowland with Big Thunder Mountain and Frontierland in the distance.

You can also see a red construction fence in the above photo. This area behind the fens has all been bulldozed and used to feature a lot of flat rides and off the shelf roller coasters. The area was un-themed and un-landscaped and seemed like a gimmick to get more people in the park. The park management finally came to their senses and removed all of it. No word yet on what they plan on doing with that area of land, but I hear another highly themed area is coming soon.

Below are some shots of Tomorrowland. In Tomorrowland there is Space Mountain, Rocket Rods, the People Mover Station, Starcade and a few other great attractions. Today is just an overview of the area.

Few shots of the beautiful Waterfront Restaurant at the entrance to Tomorrowland. Its where I had lunch.

I am breaking this post up into two parts. Next up will be Frontierland, Pirate's Cove and then some night shots of the park. Let me know what you think.

Well, this came out of nowhere.

Not too shabby!

I'm kind of against theming your areas to the Disney Parks lands, just because I'm a cast member at WDW. That's no reason to lock your topic though, so don't worry.

We do have an attachment feature here in the forums, though. You might want to use it - there is no "bandwidth exceeded" when you upload to TPR's servers.

Frontierland, home to many rides like the Mark Twain Riverboat, Big Thunder Mountain, the Mine Drop Ride, The Wild West Log ride and others.

Upon entering Frontierland, you are greeted with an Old West Main Street. The Mark Twain riverboat dock is to the right, with the Western Wheel at the end of the street.

Left side of the street. You can see the Mine Drop ride in the distance in the back.

Further into Fronteirland, along the boardwalk, you can see the Wild West log ride along with the Riverboat

The Frontierland Train Station and Mine Drop Ride

Entrance to 2 attractions, Big Thunder Mountain and the second Mark Twain Dock

Additional views of Frontierland from the train

Now onto the final themed land, Pirate's Cove -- home to Captain's Spin, The Black Pearl (swinging ship flat ride) and Pirates of the Caribbean boat ride.

Leaving Pirate's Cove and heading back to Main Street

I was lucky enough to be in the park when the sun went down, so here are some night shots from around the park.

Tomorrowland

That is it for now. Planning on heading back to the park sometime shortly and will come with another TR.

This is without a doubt the most bizarre RCT park I've ever seen...it's like Disney, Universal, and an RCT1 scenario got thrown in a blender on the "frappe'" setting.

And it's absolutely awesome!

^ Totally agrees. This park is humongous, and so realistic (except from the different rides from different companies ofcourse). Only thing missing to give it perfect realism seems to be custom supports.

And by the way: congratulations on your 1000th post Ace Of Spades
