^ Yup. I saw you got the coupon too. Did you get an email? I just adjusted the email text so it's a bit more clear now, but I haven't gotten the emails yet.

Yup- got the e-mail for the coupons-

Is the system for using them in the store setup yet? I.E. does that aspect need to be tested? (I'm at home with a rather nasty infection- and off the grid for a few days- so able to do work on things like that right now)

Woohoo, 200 points and $50 in coupon codes.

I assume the coupons are for stuff in the store?

^ They are for digital downloads. You should have gotten an email explaining!

I am going to try something a little different with it in a few minutes....

Aha! In my old email account that I don't use anymore!

So I just tested the entire coupon system pipeline. It all seems to work! I was able to rank a coaster to get the point needed for the coupon. It generated the coupon, description, and the email. I went to the store, added the Digital Download to my cart, use the coupon, gave me a zero balance, and then the email came in with the download link. After I used the coupon is disappeared from my profile so I couldn't use it again!

SUCCESS!!!

I've tried several of my codes, and none of them are correct.

EDIT: AAAH! I just lost all my coupons!

I'm considering putting up a "RCT/NL tutorial request" thread. I'm eager to get seriously productive.

Too early?

I agree. Do it.

I'm going to start moving dmax's stuff our of his thread and into the Exchange after my sister's wedding next weekend. That'll get rid of that Sticky.

What I'm thinking of doing is publishing each tutorial in four mediums - online (definitely), .doc (likely), .pages (not as likely), and .pdf (smallest priority). That way players who use the tutorials don't have to run an internet connection to read them.

Granted, I won't WRITE all of them (there's some stuff I DO NOT know how to do), but I can create templates and publish tutorials of my own as well as other players' tutorials.

^ I'd keep it to online and PDF. Online for TPR readers and just about anyone can open a PDF on their computers, iPhone or iPad. If you need help making the PDF, just post a .doc version in here and I can make it.

Sure.

Robb, do you have a TPR logo without the "Club" on a transparent background, like the shadowed one on the park index pages? I'd like permission to put it in the templates.

^ Which TPR logo are you referring to? The Club TPR logo or the TPR logo?

The Club TPR Logo with the track is one complete entity and we don't ever use it with the "club" word on it as that whole title treatment is used to brand the club specifically.

The TPR logo (which you see in the header) I have several different versions of that I can post.

The normal version is fine. I just need a small version that I can put in the top corner of the PDF.

I thought the Club TPR logo was made in a logo without the "Club", but the "Club" is just blocked by the Member Reviews box on the park index pages.

The only thinkg I can think of about these PDF, is to make sure you give credit where credit is due. Especially if you're pulling any FAQs from somewhere else.

Or change it up so much they can't give us crap for "stealing."

OK- now that we're up and running (at least as close as feasably possible), I'm thinking of running the first 'official' TPR games forum contest-

I've begun working on an RCT II game level challenge (A scenario) where players will be able to use their skills the best they can to build from a 'defunct' park- I.E. a challenge vs. an 'I can build it so much better than you' type of game.

What I need right now are ideas for how to set up judging/scoring etc. My best guess at this point is to post the scenario file to the exchange- allow people to download it, and then work with it as they can. Once they're done, they re-post their completed park to the exchange, and add pictures to the challenge thread- then open the thread for voting at a particular date- that is: Allow the members as a whole to judge the parks based upon what they see.

I -REALLY- don't want this to be a "I do these so much better than you because my Daddy doesn't love me so I'll show off how great I am" contest. I'd rather see what our memebers can do when facing a scenario with limitations- I'd rather see how good people can get with what they are given- thus this is a no-trainers/no hacks game: Keep it simple- it will make our lives easier in the long run.

Before I post the game to the exchange, though, I'll be posting it here: If I could get somebody to play it once it's complete before I post it, it would be appreciated.

Any suggesstions on what it might entail?
