T-BONDIcoasterkid
Hi, this is my recreation of griffon with no Custom Scenery. Please comment and give advice. It is 205' up, straight down, has 2 immelmans, and a splash pit.
djbrcace1234
You have one problem if you want to recreate this: You either build the coaster to the actual specifics, or you build this proportionally because the way you're building it now, you're going to have major pacing issues. Take this picture of yours, to the actual thing: I can see you're building the first drop as the advertised height, but your Immelmann Inversion is off quite significantly. I understand the Limitations of all RCT based games, but a pacing issue can be avoided by either elongated inversions/ layouts to their designated heights, or by building proportionally. Other than that, it's a nice start.
T-BONDIcoasterkid
Sorry but the largest rct loop is what I am using now. Edited January 19, 2011 by T-BONDIcoasterkid
djbrcace1234
Building proportionally is recreating a ride basically not at the actual specifications of the "real" ride. So if Griffon has a drop of 205 feet and I build it to a scale of 3/4 it's size (to get a better affect with the Immelmann) would have a drop height of only (205* .75=) 153.75 feet This basis is more to create the aesthetics the ride conveys as it will "look" more picture perfect. Hope that helps, and good luck with this.

Ace Of Spades
Dj pretty much has my ride criticism covered, so all I'll go on right now is the station and the queue...it looks very hastily thrown together, even for NCS. I'd take more time to actually recreate the look and feel of Griffon's queue and the area around it to achieve a more realistic effect.
T-BONDIcoasterkid
Yes, but the problem is: when I built the turn out of the station it would causes the top turn to be overly large. I the drop is like to spaces away from the station so, I could not build a realistic queue. Sorry I know this is not a good recreation according to feed back. netdvn
Station is a bit small and blocky and both immellmans are a bit small compared to the massive first drop. The line goes to the right in front of the station and under the first drop (this is more of along the lines of being picky though). I would suggest drawing some of the elements out a bit more (like the turnaround going into the drop and the MCBR) and then working on the minor details (like the line and the station) once you get better. With the paths, just work on widening the layout of the coaster and the paths will work for you a little better. If you widen the turnaround on the drop, you'll be able to fit the main walkway over the drop and compress the queue line. Same goes for the exit... Widen the drop outside the station (maybe change the terrain a bit to make it a bit closer to the real ride since it goes down a hill) and then move the exit queue closer to the station so it can go over the platform. You have a good start, but building real rides in RCT takes tons of practice to get right. So far the ride looks solid, but I would suggest working on drawing out the elements on the coaster before worrying too much about the scenery. Use pictures of the actual ride as inspiration and you should even work on designing fictional coasters and perfecting the scenery before jumping into ride recreations. - Really hope this helps!
