Thx1138
Hi everybody, newbie guy, glad to be here, Here is a park I am still in the process of building, but have almost completed, my version of Central Park and New York City... ^ Here it is overall, There is a financial district, theater, residential, the Village and Fifth Avenue sections. ^There are two entrances on either side of the park for those weary peeps who "just want to go home!". ^The financial district with the tallest, most substantial buildings. ^ The "Central Park" section is reserved for the coasters and are run out of these efficiant "bays". Easy to clean and police. ^ Here is a place just to sit or take a nice walk. This was a pain to build and there are two of them! ^ Here we have Yankee's Stadium complete with baseball museum. It will become a food court/tourist trap when the park opens. ^ Even New York has strip malls, this one is tiered. ^ This large glass building was actually from a previous build. I call it "the birthday cake" and it will become the park's Grand Central Station with two underground monorails. ^ Gucci flagship store on Fifth Ave. ^Broadway. ^ The Village ^ Tiffany's Macy's. (I repainted this in Macy's red.) ^ Second entrance. Hope you like it so far, a few days and I'll have it open. Thx1138
WOW! I am really, really looking forward to this park. It's already incredible, and it doesn't even have rides! Thanks, I've been working on it for months and can't wait to get it open either. I'm going to open it with no rides and maybe update the file later when it is full of coasters. I did open a test version and glad I did because I found the custom roadway scenery flashes and obscures the car ride. Had to rip it all out. I have since added quite a bit, lots of details, new skyscrapers and added scenery... The residential/professional district. This was actually modeled after Chicago, inspired by a shot at the beginning of the Bob Newhart Show. ^ The new Camelot Theater, the old one was too dinky. ^ The Palace Cinema. ^ The Trocodero nightclub. Thanks for your kind response, hopefully I'll have it uploaded tomorrow.

Thx1138
Love it! But don't rush it! Oh, I hate the last couple days when you are combing the park to make sure you have enough benches and trash cans and all the millions of little final details you will kick yourself for if you miss them. lol I've been playing rct2 since 2003. I might complain a bit, but it is a labor of love. A note: There is a lot of grass in this park, you might wonder how I am going to hire an army of gardeners to keep all those little patches of grass trimmed... (Most of it is covered in clear pathway and won't grow.) ^ A resort I haven't named yet. ^ Three new scrapers built outside the park and just to fill up that skyline. ^ The baseball museum. That large geosphere will be replaced with a 3D theater. ^ The Taj Cineplex ^ Couple more new buildings.
triggernel
Just a small little thing, but the stadium is actually called Yankee Stadium without the s. This is an awesome looking concept; can't wait to see where you take it!

Thx1138
Lol, I wish I could afford an Apple computer. (But on the other hand, my system only cost $150.) Here is the park file, I know I probably overlooked a million things, but do you ever really finish building? lol Some tips... Probably the best way to start any park is by building a small, isolated, "mini park" next to each entrance and then gradually open up a section at a time. Set up a couple thrill rides, a modest coaster or a go-kart next to each entrance and you should be able to win the game around September of year 1. There is no need for research funds, I turned it off for us. Most of the grass is covered by clear pathway and won't grow. I took the liberty of removing some pathway on the sides of the entrances so the peeps don't get lost in the city on day 1. One of your first goals should be to link both sides of the park through the coaster bays, then go to work on the urban sections. Just some ideas. I'll post some pics of the park with coasters, don't forget to come back to the thread and share your Central Park attractions! Have fun folks! Thx1138
Here is a link to the Central Park Expo download folks... http://www.nedesigns.com/park/1723/sir-jeffreys-central-park-expo/?fromsearch-1 "Nyeww York, New York it's a wonderful town..." The scrapers are kind of primitive I admit, but it was my first real urban build and many of those hollow glass boxes were meant to house tall thrill rides and small vertical and LIM coasters. Thx1138
Whoops, I guess I didn't realize you guys had one. I belong to so many rct forums it's hard to keep track. Well this is good, because I really am not crazy about that particular forum and will upload here from now on. That NY park was uploaded before my system went down. When I got my new one I was desperate to get just one scenery piece, the colarable curved quarter wall... I downloaded park after park thinking surely this next one will have it... And then I went and downloaded the huge Disney Park which added a couple hundred scenery items (I really don't need) into my small scenery picker which I am afraid to download any more parks or it will be locked with just WW, not TT in there too. I'm a'scared to download my own parks (there are only 2 from my old system, that one and Mega Mountains) to transfer them here because it will lock my picker.
