CCI Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 (edited) In 1976 Taft Broadcasting purchased 250 acres just outside Asheville NC. the plan was to Open it as there third park along with Kings dominion, and kings island. While in the process of construction It was sold to a private company known as CPI (Creative Parks international). Taft had already built a smaller version of the Eiffel tower. And dug out the reflection pound. Instead of filling it with water we decided to build a sunken garden with it.Here we are now in 1978, Hello my name is Mark Fiffle I will be bringing you updates up until grand opening spring 1981, and for further expansion. Here is the Eiffel tower which is slightly shorter than the other two by Taft. Construction has begun on the amphitheater which will be the largest in the area when finished. I hope to give another construction update tomorrow, but until then goodbye. Edited September 26, 2010 by mcjaco
let1gre Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Not much to base on at this point, but that mini-Eiffel looks pretty spiffy.
Mastersax68 Posted September 21, 2010 Posted September 21, 2010 Fiffle? Nice name, haha. It looks like a nice start, but I really hope those trees randomly spread around aren't permanent. It takes a lot of time to fill in each area with foliage, but in the end, it's really worth it. Also, when you do add to the foliage, make sure to include some shrubs. And yes, dj, my favorite word is shrubs.
CCI Posted September 21, 2010 Author Posted September 21, 2010 Thanks. No the foliage is not permanent It is just a base layer while the park is being built, and when I finish a section I will also do the foliage for the area. thanks for the comments! ^good luck on your design submission with NE.
djbrcace1234 Posted September 23, 2010 Posted September 23, 2010 Hey Mastersax, at least some one pays attention to terraforming. It's a nice start, and I'll be watching this.
CCI Posted September 25, 2010 Author Posted September 25, 2010 1978. Construction has begun on our first two roller coasters a Shuttle loop and a wildcat. We are still trying to find a name for the shuttle loop. The new food stall an overview of the area Lastly a pic of the aptly named Wildcat.
djbrcace1234 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I adore the Shuttle loop for sure! Nice job!
imawesome1124 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I love this park so far but don't care for the colors on Wildcat. I'd say go with something more subtle. Keep up the good work.
Mastersax68 Posted September 25, 2010 Posted September 25, 2010 I also like the Shuttle Loop, and thank you! I think the Wild Mouse would look better without a station building. Maybe try putting in a loading platform type thing?
CCI Posted September 26, 2010 Author Posted September 26, 2010 This is an out of story line update but I removed the station from wildcat and I will build a platform instead. But I also started putting in foliage. Wildcat station less. Foliage being placed. Do to a save issue the old Amphitheater didn't save so I built this one. Please comment!
Dotrobot Posted September 26, 2010 Posted September 26, 2010 That theater is much better.. And maybe some shade for the waiting line for wildcat? it looks a bit bare.
CCI Posted September 27, 2010 Author Posted September 27, 2010 Mark Fiffle here, I'd like to show you some pictures of our newest restaurant. It has a deck on the lake and a small stage inside for local performers. the front of the building the back and the double deck.
