Midgetman82
I visited the Kentucky State fair with my family. We went during the day where there was less people and is a great time for taking photos. Unfortunately my family (yet again) gets tired and hot very easy so I don't have a huge amount of photos of the rides, just enough to show you some of the new attractions they put in since last year. If you are wondering about the Doughnut burger, it is a regular burger but it uses Krispy Kreme doughnuts instead of bread buns (commence mouth water, chimes of angels, and then the though if is a disgusting combination and if there was an ambulance standing near by... no there wasn't). I ordered one with cheese and bacon and I have to tell you that it was great! But I will say that I ate it slow because it was a little hard to handle since it has two very soft doughnuts as buns. Power Surge Video. You'll see me coming off the ride at the end. The newRe-Mix ride. The new High Energy ride. The Wild Mouse Coaster. To show you how expensive it was, there was three of us in the car for adult price. Cars were lined up by many workers. This large building housed a small portion of the fair. Temporary map. There was many things being sold in here. All things were very unique. There was even advertising some of the products, too bad the Shamwow guy wasn't here. There was also gambling. Something told me I was gonna be here a while. Will we win?... nope! After turning in your paper, they give you a ticket for a free spin on this wheel. Then they give you a paper for 2 free $2 scratch offs, which we lost both. LMPD always have a section here every year. I've never seen this before. There was even a TARC (city bus) bus! There was a free boating simulator, but it was boring. This slightly creeped me out. From alcohol to model airplanes. Quilts. Making our way out the door. Outside A little bit of history. A little bit of blues music. And the main thing for today! Credit, didn't ride it. Tiny ferris wheel! Also tiny Scrambler! Tornado One of the two Fun Houses, they even had two very cheap haunted rides. Feuerball, there was another kind like this but it wasn't as insane as this one. Tilt-a-Whirl, there was two of these. Himalaya, again two of these. Octopus Inverter. The Cliffhanger The Hurricane. It was new for this year. This was also new. It was my first time on one of these. The kid next to me kept crying "stop this ride!" Make Bozo Splash, different guy than last year. 1001 Nachts Power Surge. By the way, those pink signs with numbers on them are how many tickets are needed to ride. Yo-Yo Re-Mix, also new and looks crazy. Starship Area 51 Zero Gravity Spin-Out Ring of Fire, new. High Energy, new and wasn't as good as Feuerball. Put together by. This looked like fun! Dad's attempt to capture a photo of me on Feuerball. I'm on the right in yellow shirt. Wee! Other Ferris Wheel Shrek looking fun house. Mirror Maze. Pool tables! Tired of the heat, we go inside. Tractors Smaller Tractor Beef Cows There was one cow that was pooping... and pooping... and pooping... it was gross. Back outside Say hi to Freddy! He's been here sitting 15 feet tall for every Kentucky State Fair ever since it started. If you were to listen carefully, you can literally hear a voice come from him. Now it's time for the infamous Doughnut Burger. There were other lines that were longer than this, and this whole stand ended up on the news BEFORE the fair! There it is, my only photo of it as I hold my order of this little piece of heaven that didn't make me go to the bathroom! There was a show going on, this kid had three balls spinning on his hands and his head. We go inside again and find a food show! They flip a tractor with a dummy held on by a seatbelt. More stuff to look at. Ahh. This is quite useful. Petting Zoo! Sleepy Donkey! Can't have this update without one! Why so serious? Cock-a-doodle-doo Peacock For some reason, this was funny to everyone! Aww! There were even kittens, but I didn't want your eyes melted by it's adorableness. Dairy Cow. Us leaving, thanks for viewing! Edited December 1, 2010 by Midgetman82
DOCTOR DOOM!!!
I didn't make it to the fair this year, but I wanted one of those doughnut burgers SO BAD!!!
Midgetman82
Today's the last day, go now unless you don't want huge last minute crowds.
tanthonyam
Would have been better if some of the park's rides were open. That midway looked awfully bland. No scenery at all. Seriously, 2 tilt a whirls and several himalyas to make up for the big park rides closed?
let1gre
Cool TR. I've never been to the state fair in my state (Virginia) but my county fair pales so much in comparison to this it nearly brings me to tears.
Midgetman82
^^During daytime yes, but it looks much nicer at night. Unfortunately I didn't get to stay till night or even dawn, but I did last year and it was pretty nice with their lights turned on. Also they always had two Himalayas and Tilt-a-Whirls, I'm surprised we even got a wild mouse coaster!
ratdogg68
Great report of the fair. The only " New" ride they had this year was the Remix. North American Midways sucks, having two of a couple of rides and 3 Himalayas didn't add anything to the midway this year. I wish KY Kingdom had been open than I could have rode some decent Roller Coasters.
