1pizza14 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 (edited) HI TPR, recently I have been browsing this forum quite a bit and I thought it would be good to create a park in RCT2. I have recently gotten back into the game and I am not amazing (the last time I played the game was when I was 6). My park will not be amazing I must say but I think its a great start. Most rides in the park are custom however many rides in loony tunes land are not. I have been looking at other parks on TPR and I might have copied some names or something inadvertently. If so I am terribly sorry and I will change it immediately. A little story on the park... Six Flags Canadian Adventure is located just outside of barrie (1hr. north of Toronto) in lower Ontario. The park just recently opened and is still developing some newer major attractions. The park is open from april to november and is closed during the winter. The obvious competitor to this park is Canada's Wonderland located about 30 minutes away. Will SFCA survive? Find out in this TR! SCR1.BMP The entrance to the parking lot of the park. $10 for cars. SCR2.BMP The parking lot I took this picture before the park opened SCR3.BMP The main entrance of the park. A few fountains and some flowers. The current price to get in is $40. SCR4.BMP The main street of the park. In the middle is the sky lift that takes you to Frontier Town. SCR5.BMP The end of main street. Here you can see the Big Wheel, Tidle Wave, and Pirates Adventure. SCR6.BMP If you head to the end of Main Street you can find the Viper, and the dodgems. Viper is the parks hyper coaster. SCR7.BMP The layout of Viper. It was based off of the Magnum at Cedar Point. SCR8.BMP If you head to the left on Main Street you will reach Looney Tunes Land. This is the kids area of the park. SCR9.BMP An overview of the small but new kids area of the park. SCR10.BMP This is Mr. Sixes Dance Coaster where the hight requirement is 36" tall. Wonder why its so low compared to some other Six Flags parks... *COUGH* Magic Mountain SCR12.BMP As we move on to the other side of the park you will find Canadian Screamin'. This is the parks gems. You will find an out and back airtime thriller on this wooden coaster! SCR13.BMP One of the MAJOR airtime hills on Canadian Screamin' SCR15.BMP This is Superman Tower Of Power. A regular S&S launched tower. A nice air conditioned queue line is on this ride as lines can get up to 1 hour long. In the background is demon the parks arrow looper. SCR16.BMP This is the layout of demon. Its pretty basic the ride suffers from major downtime and there are thoughts of it being removed SCR19.BMP Near the back of the park is Gotham City. There are 2 coasters and an ACERS buffet in this area of the park. Pictured is Jokers Revenge. The parks boomerang coaster SCR20.BMP Batman: The Ride and the ACERS buffet in this picture. I thought Batman turned out O.K... SCR22.BMP As we move on to Frontier Town we can see the parks log flume Zumba Flumes. Surprisingly this ride was purchased from Canada's Wonderland.. the parks major competition. SCR23.BMP Pictured is Runaway Mine Train... this is a port from the SFGA version SCR24.BMP A final overview of the park SCR25.BMP I will leave you here. Please leave any comments how I can improve my park or what I should get rid of! Thank you for reading! I also talked to the CEO of the park and he said a new MAJOR coaster will be coming very soon! Stay tuned Edited August 11, 2010 by mcjaco
djbrcace1234 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 This is what I think of it so far: Good: 1. Main street is nice 2. Magnum remake 3. Variety of rollercoasters Bad: 1. No terraforming 2. Little to no foliage 3. Too many in game clones 4. Lack of buldings for food, shops, etc. Suggestions: Add some landscaping to the park as it will help with the asethitics. Be creative, and try to make your own rides. It will benefit in the end. Add trees as well. Not a bad start, but if you rethink some of the areas, it will look nice.
1pizza14 Posted August 8, 2010 Author Posted August 8, 2010 ^ thanks! Unfortunetly I am bad at creating ideas for custom rides so sometimes I revert to building pre-built ones. originally I had a cover/building over the ACERS buffet... but everytime i built a shop inside of it all of the walls would disappear... also.. what is terriforming? Thank you for your feedback!
djbrcace1234 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Terraforming is basically adding texture to your land. Some hills, valleys, rivers help the appeal of a park. If you have to use clones in a park, try and repaint the stations structures as well. I also suggest for inspired bulding tips, look at real coaster stations. Most staions can be built as regular buildings as well. Since I see this is a Non custom scenery park as well, take a look at Whitlock gardens andd se how he bulds his large buildings. Perhaps that can help. I hope to see this project evolve!
Mastersax68 Posted August 8, 2010 Posted August 8, 2010 Good start for a first park. I would recommend a few things, though. Don't build coasters with track that touch the ground, as it makes for an unrealistic look. This is because the track laying on the ground has no supports to hold it up. Mix up your trees and foliage a bit. When I play without custom scenery, I mainly use trees that cover the full tile. By this I mean that they pretty much take up the whole square they're built on. I like doing this so that when I fill the area around the trees with shrubs, the shrubs seem to be right next to the trees, and don't have a gap between them. Use ground textures beneath your paths! This makes for a more full and pleasant look. Try to add nice-looking fences to your paths, mainly because real parks do so that it's clear where the guests shouldn't be. Try to make the stations for your coasters at least 3-4 tiles wide, it makes for a more realistic station. The red box that appears after you take a picture can be removed by clicking on it, or by waiting for it to disappear. One more thing, when you build a shop or food stall, it takes up the whole tile until 8 spaces up, including walls. So if you want to build a buffet building, you will have to make sure your walls are on the other side of the tile and your roofs are 8 spaces up. Please let me know if any of this doesn't make sense, and I hope I helped!
ericm95 Posted August 9, 2010 Posted August 9, 2010 This is what I think of it so far: Bad: 1. No terraforming Terraforming really is your favorite word. . I would also suggest adding more foliage

CoasterCreator9 Posted August 12, 2010 Posted August 12, 2010 The giga is nicely laid out, except that flat section I see after the second (?) drop. Overall, very nice for your first park.
1pizza14 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 We are back! The park has added a new LIM launched coaster called Lightspin. The coster is now open for business. Now on to the pictures! SCR42.BMP LIGHTSPIN!! The LIM coaster is now open! It packs an amazing ride in the shape of a giant spegetti bowl! SCR43.BMP Some layout goodness SCR44.BMP Evan more layout.. notice the track goes right thru the loop! SCR46.BMP The surrounding area and the station SCR48.BMP The layout and Lightspins area. SCR49.BMP And a final overview of the park. I built a floorless coaster but it is still missing a name and scenery.. any ideas?
djbrcace1234 Posted August 13, 2010 Posted August 13, 2010 It's getting better I have to say, though the way you are building right now is going to affect you in the end. The way you placed Batman will land lock other areas in the park. Unless you expand the train ride out more, It's not going to look well. Just a tip would to expand the train ride like this: You'll notice that this gives you more land now to expanding with no need to pass over the train, or under the train. That is just my two cents, though.
1pizza14 Posted August 13, 2010 Author Posted August 13, 2010 ^ thank you very much! I will do that when my B&M update comes out.
