davisal771
I've been into origami for a while, for those who don't know its basically just the folding of a square paper (or multiple pieces) into elaborate figures. I've been progressively working my way up to the harder models, this is the hardest I've done so far (which incidentally isn't all that hard; it just looks better than the super hard ones ) : Is anyone else on here a folder? Sidra
I can't fold paper to save my life... I know that sounds lame. But that looks awesome.
mightbeawannabe
^^How many squares was that made of? How many faces? I personally can't get origami right. I always get it just far off enough to totally mess up the whole thing.
davisal771
^ 30 pieces of paper, it has 20 spikes, so I'm just guessing that it has 60 faces. I could be wrong though
mightbeawannabe
^fair assumption. Are all 30 pieces of paper folded identically? How long did it take you? How many folds? Sorry if it's nigh impossible to know or not.
davisal771
^ Yep, all 30 pieces are folded identically, I just looked up a diagram, it looks like 10 folds per piece. So that would equate to 300 folds, then there is the whole process of assembling them...
davisal771
Just made this, I call it the man who flew out of an Intamin airtime machine and got flattened. Edited August 7, 2010 by davisal771
mightbeawannabe
The picture isn't working correctly....try again? EDIT: Wow! Is all folds on a single piece of paper or are there cuts? Either way, awesome! Edited August 7, 2010 by mightbeawannabe
davisal771
Yeah, all the folds are on 1 sheet, no cutting. Cutting paper automatic turns it anti-origami. Its not my design, I have a book and its titled "Unfortunate bungee jumper".
superglu101
Yes! I Have been folding for the past 15 years or so. I joined OrigamiUSA in the late 90's and have been attending the annual convention ever since in NYC.I fold mostly complex models like Robert Lang's insects and some modulars. I'm finishing up a 180 piece modular from the 2010 convention book
Mastersax68
I've been into Origami for a few years now. The need to fold kind of comes in bursts, though. I can go a very long time without folding, and then suddenly, I'll have the urge to make something out of paper.
