Aren't we getting a little a head of ourselves? Not only because TxG isn't even completed yet, but the timberliners aren't running yet either.

I'm not skeptical of how awesome TxG might be, but I still think it might be more cost-effective to build a new ride.

One other note - I would be incredibly upset if the Beast was re-tracked to be steel.

As stated in the opening paragraph by the OP, I am presupposing that Texas Giant will be a success. I imagine the cost effectiveness will be more difficult to judge. Time will tell, but I'd prefer to be optomistic.

If the beast did get Re-tracked with this Iron horse steel rail concept it would upset a lot of people, but personally I think it would be great. That ride is a shadow of its former self with the trim brakes completely reducing the speed and intensity it once had. While its still a decent wooden coaster and certainly unique, a steel track overhaul with some re-profiling of the drops and adding in some air time on the back stretch, and possibly making the final helix a steeper bank that ride with its location and history and already unique layout could really be something special again. What if an extra couple hundred feet of track were added before the first brake shed or after the final helix making the beast the longest coaster in the world, that would be cool as well.

On a random side thought, what if all of the previously listed coasters got overhauls and the worlds new top 10 list starts looking like the top 10 list from the mid 90's? Beast, ghost rider, Texas giant, Mean Streak, Rattler. If all of those coasters were restored to their former glory I don't know what out there besided El Toro, Balder, and maybe Thunderhead and Troy could compete. Just a thought

I haven't been on it yet, but Predator now runs articulated trains as opposed to the trailered trains from last year and beyond. That should have fixed the problem.

Mean Steak might get it, but I'm hoping that Son of Beast is too far gone and will get removed. Maybe the Hurlers.

I'll agree with you on Ghostrider and even go as far as Rattler or even HellCat... I hear that's a rough one, but I doubt that park can afford a multi-million Dollar makeover.

Problem with many of the CCI rides was that they were built to be very intense, but were also meant to be thoroughly maintained which just didn't happen. The Myrtle Beach Hurricane was awful due to that.

The Beast can stay the way God Intended it.

Sad to say the ONLY thing that would fix hurler would be either gasoline & a match or a chainsaw....still it might, just might prove worth the investment though.
