thrillrider Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Was anybody at a park in the north east today? If so, did you feel the earthquake? If so, how did the parks respond? Did they shut the rides down to inspect them? I am sure our friends from california could chime in.
haiderodes Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 ^Usually in California (as well as here in Vegas), they just close the rides and do a quick inspection before reopening. Depending on severity, it usually only means rides are down for a couple of hours or so. The bigger issues arrise if there is a power outtage as a result.
Carnage Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 I felt it, and I'm an hour west of Toronto. La Ronde probably was the closest park. Canada's Wonderland probably would have felt it a bit. I doubt they would have done much though. It was a pretty minor quake. It would have been barely noticeable at Wonderland.
dandaman Posted June 23, 2010 Posted June 23, 2010 Felt it up in Northern Michigan, just south of Mackinaw. Closest park would be Michigan's Adventure and I have no idea how they fared, but I'm gonna assume they did just fine. EDIT: They probably felt it due to the park being so dead quiet.
Reality15 Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 Didn't feel anything at Michigan's Adventure today. Nor did we get any strong storms, perfect day to be in the park.
phantomfan93 Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 I felt it in Pittsburgh. I know I was at Duquesne College.
Pingu1651 Posted June 24, 2010 Posted June 24, 2010 My friend told me about the quake, so it must have been felt somewhere near Cleveland, which is around where I live. I doubt anything happened to WWK or CP, though.
