jedimaster1227 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) http://www.cfnews13.com/Entertainment/HeyJohn/2010/3/27/underground_theme_park_coming_to_central_florida.html It's the ad that's making a splash around Orlando. The whirlwind world of water splash zone and more, all totally under the surface of Orlando. More roller coasters are supposedly coming to the world's theme park capital, except this time, there's a twist when they say land down under. The world's first underground adventure park call (407) 494-DOWN for more information. When you call the number, you get somewhat muffled directions. Left on Lockwood Road, quick right on Chuluota Road, follow the signs on Chuluota Road for four miles. News 13’s Dave D’Marko got on what's also known as County Road 419, and went exactly four miles. It took him to a spot where there were no signs of a park. On one side of the street was a wooded area. On the other side was a bar called the Hitching Post. Inside the bar, the ad was already a hot topic. "I gave the number to a lot of people," one customer said. Residents of the rural community say it’s unlikely any type of business could be opening on 50 acres in Chuluota without them hearing about it. They wonder if the ad, so far only confirmed to be airing on Power 95.3, is some sort of gimmick or a stunt. "We may ride down the road and see what's happening, but other than that, [we’re] not thinking it’s going to be true," said Helen Thompson, Seminole County resident. "I don't think the underground theme park is real. I hope it is though. That'd be nice," said Ben Glosser, University of Central Florida student. But between now and the April 5 announced grand opening, don't be surprised if you find some residents searching for that elusive underground entrance. We are still waiting to hear back from the local radio station that is airing the ad to find out who is paying for it. Edited March 28, 2010 by jedimaster1227
SharkTums Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 ^Between an announcement around April 1st and the fact that undergroun Florida is WATER, I'm guessing this is some sort of weird publicity stunt hoax thing.
larrygator Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 (edited) ^^UCF students aren't very smart. Considering that practically nothing can be built underground in Florida because of the water tables, this is clearly a HOAX. Edited March 28, 2010 by larrygator
jjune4991 Posted March 28, 2010 Posted March 28, 2010 They could probably get about 10 feet and then they'd be under water So it could be a water park!
