That looks like a really cool ride! Not sure if I'll ever ride it at Slagharen, but would love to see something like it in the States.

It seems like everyone is copying the forwards-backwards-forwards launch that Premier came up with for the SkyRocket II now.

Slagharen has announced that it is adding a new Zamperla flat ride known as Sky Sifter in 2026! This attraction will offer guests a choice been a gold, more intense experience with inversions or a silver, family-friendly mode without inversions.

The Dutch theme park and holiday resort Slagharen is expanding its Wild West offering with a new adventure. This spring, an attraction named “Sky Sifter” is set to open, combining both a thrill and a family-friendly experience in one. This will be made possible by a ride of the “Discovery Revolution 30” type from Italian manufacturer Zamperla.

The 30-metre-high attraction will feature two separate queues, which both integrate seamlessly into the theme of “Gold Rush” and “Red Bandit Adventure” attractions. Guests will then be able to choose between two options: “Gold” or “Silver”. While the Gold route culminates in a more intense ride experience with full inversions (“Full Inversion Mode”), the Silver route offers a more family-friendly alternative in swing mode without inversions. In total, the attraction has a capacity of around 540 persons per hour.

“‘Sky Sifter’ reflects our ambition to create experiences that bring together different target groups without compromise,” emphasises Sander de Haas, General Manager of Slagharen. “By giving guests the freedom to choose their own level of adventure, we are expanding our Wild West world in a way that is both innovative and true to our identity. With the concept of a dual experience and the full inversion, ‘Sky Sifter’ represents a major step forward for Slagharen and stands out as a unique attraction in the region.”

The name, theme and queue design of the attraction were developed in collaboration with the Dutch Leisure Expert Group. “What truly makes ‘Sky Sifter’ special is that the decision is made before the ride even begins,” explains John Ruisch, Creative Director at the Leisure Expert Group. “Within Slagharen’s familiar Western setting, we were able to implement this concept in both queues. We are very proud of what we have created together with Slagharen and can hardly wait for the first guests to experience this new adventure first-hand.”

More about this year’s new attractions in European theme parks will be available in the EAP Park Report, to be published in issue 2/2026 at the beginning of March. ■
