Hhappy Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Over the last couple of years Halloween has become bigger and bigger in the Netherlands. Parties are being organized and some parks are doing a lot for a Halloween event (Walibi World is one of those places). Toverland also hosted a Halloween event this year and since i had some time to spare i decided to go there, enjoy some rides on Troy and try to get some pictures of this event. Please keep in mind that this is a family park, so there won't be very scary people walking around or much blood. It's more about the fun. The parks is open during normal hours during the day and from 15:00 hours the first characters started to enter the park. At 18:00 hours the park closed and the staff had 1 hour to clean up, and prepare for the night audience. From 19:00 hours until 23:00 hours the Halloween event would take place. Normally one would have to buy a separate ticket for this night opening.. but it was decided during the day that if you bought an entrance ticket for the day... it would be good for the evening opening as well.. (together with a stamp and letter) So that was a nice surprise. I did not stay until the end of the event (too tired and had to drive back home) so i did not get all the pictures i wanted to. But i do hope so still enjoy these. Enough said, picture time. And please feel free to comment. another moon attempt... another "fail" 2 train operation and a line which did not look to bad.. I can't remember my last visit where there was a line like this with 2 trains in use... but it had been a while since my last visit.. Always good if you want to warm up a little. and another Boosterbike shot.. The ropes course was also a lof of fun. Thanks Bas... They did a very nice job on this More Troy pictures.. Boo to you it's such a shame i did not get a better image of this.. but the moon behind the caroussel was just amazing.. caroussel in the dark.. and number 2.. and they had a lot of fun together entertaining everybody.. number one.. Time for a final photo lap.. more indoor climbing stuff.. somebody was hungry The one and only Triangle more characters and another coaster.. climbing area for all the "small" people.. the indoor swing.. it's a very simple addition.. but makes for a lot of fun. payback the funhouse logflume boat and fog... aha, that makes more sence. More entertainment. so what's going on there? more and more characters were joining the people in the waiting area to build up the vibe for the event. Looking at Troy from the outside.. not that many people waiting in line at this moment... but still 45 minutes to go before the night opening. Troy... yummie 18:00 hours, time to leave the park and get some quick first dark pictures.. it's almost 18:00 hours.. time to get in some more rides.. the lines will be longer tonight.. it's getting darker every single minute that passes by.. Flying through the course Troy.. with clouds.. instead of a sunset.. Another boosterbike picture.. this time from a bigger distance. and the outside of the building.. Trying to make some "magic" happen... I assume it was Halloween fog, should be fun during a ride. The logflume inside. one of the buildings.. the sun was on it's way too a beautifull sunset... it's just a shame the clouds came in and prevented the "money" shot for me today. I had to stop at the Boosterbike for a ride and a photo. just a small overview of a part of the area (forgot to get more pictures of the grass etc during the day) First stop.. Troy. This ride is just so much fun (for the young and a little older) Just in case you were wondering where we are. The entrance has been updated a little and it just looked almost new and very fresh.
Hhappy Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 sorry i had too many pictures for one post. So here are some more pictures.. thanks for watching them. and i'll leave you with this green impression My last picture of Troy One of the biggest theming pieces.. hobbit Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Great pictures!! I am Saturday for my first time in Toverland with Parkcentrum meeting (dutch coasterforum) cant wait!! Troy at night looks amazing!
piers Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Wow, Troy really does look amazing at night, and the inside sections of the park look awesomly underlit too! Could be very amusing after visiting the bar! Looks like a very fun event, shame about the children...
Looty Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 Very nice photos! Anyone know how late in the season Troy stays open?
Hhappy Posted November 2, 2009 Author Posted November 2, 2009 ^ Since the park is open year round.. Troy stays open the entire year. Although if it would get really really cold.. it might be down... But as far as i'm aware that has not happened yet..
Looty Posted November 2, 2009 Posted November 2, 2009 ^Good to know. I'll be living over there for 7 months starting in January and am itching to get a ride on Troy.
