Koolkid Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 3 Dimensional is a X car coaster loosely inspired by Hollywood: Rip Rideit Rockit. I've finished the track and overall I'm very pleased with that but I'm struggling with smoothing and supporting it. I was wondering if someone/ some people would like to team up on this coaster/ help me out a little bit. Thanks very much and heres a pretty poor screenshot, it has a beyond vertical lift hill and then a twisty vertical drop.
Sasquatch Posted September 13, 2009 Posted September 13, 2009 Email me the track, I'll have a crack at smooothing it if you want!
nannerdw Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 The first drop looks awesome. The transition from - to + g's coming out of the camelback after the first MCBR looks kind of sharp. That radius at the top of that hill should be just a little it smaller.
Koolkid Posted September 14, 2009 Author Posted September 14, 2009 First drop is pretty awesome The rest of it does need a lot of work though, that drop you talk about off the first MCBR wasn't something I noticed as one of the main things that needs to be sorted but it does look a bit sharp in that picture.
Sasquatch Posted September 14, 2009 Posted September 14, 2009 Don't worry, I'm working on a draft version as we speak Alot has changed though, but it's much more Xcar-y now.
Koolkid Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 Just an update on how this bad boy's coming along
Sasquatch Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 A quick update from my end! Supports on the non-inverting loop are somewhat completed! Angle Two! With airtime! Angle One!
nannerdw Posted September 16, 2009 Posted September 16, 2009 Awesome , but you shouldn't have changed the first drop.
Koolkid Posted September 16, 2009 Author Posted September 16, 2009 I think for this coaster, it seemed best to change that first drop. Perhaps in the future I'll make a coaster incorporating that drop just for you nannerdw
Koolkid Posted September 18, 2009 Author Posted September 18, 2009 3D's are in the planning stages at the moment. If only I could learn how to do rings like in the Video games....
Koolkid Posted October 10, 2009 Author Posted October 10, 2009 Ok. I have spent hours and hours trying to support this well but I just can't get it to look effective/realistic, and it ends up making the whole ride look like poo. So firstly sorry for the lack of supports on the majority of the coaster, but I'm at the stage where I just want to release it! Anyhoo, here we go In case you didn't know, this coaster was a joint effort by me and Sasquatch. Oh and the 3d's are some of my first so, be kind 6.nlpack
DBru Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 That was a really fun ride, guys! The layout was great and the track was much smoother than I was expecting it to be. I just wish you had finished the supports...
Koolkid Posted October 11, 2009 Author Posted October 11, 2009 Me too, like I said, I did spend a good while trying different looks and it never looked "right" and always made the coaster look a bit shabby. Thanks very much for the comments!
