ChrisZer0 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 Wow, this sure plays up to the stereotype that the English have bad personal hygiene (i.e overweight, no deodorant, bad NHS teeth, ect..)I know quite a few people in the UK who actually are cleaner and smell nicer than most Americans I know. Kind of a dumb move I think for Thorpe, really makes them show their backside to the community at large...
jason10 Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 I think this is the British sense of humour coming out here. You shouldn't really read into it as much as this. It's a simple publicity stunt to be taken light-heartedly as a joke. It got them on the net. Simple advertising. I think it's quite funny but seriously, don't take this the wrong way! I'll be keeping my hands up while at the same time enjoying the fact that THORPE PARK have a sense of humour!
Purplepills Posted August 20, 2009 Posted August 20, 2009 ^I agree pretty much. It is just the sense of humour coming out, and tbh its nice to see the park do this without fear of someone worrying about offending someone over the slightest little thing, and showing they can have a joke. I'm pretty sure the teenagers that the park is aimed at would think it's funny and possibly cool.
Cantrip Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 What are they trying to do, drive away customers? Have they ever heard of "tuning it out?" It seems like the wind from the ride should cause the odor to dissipate, and it's not fair for those of us who use deodorant. If jason10 is right, I just might end up having a good time if I ever go there. However, if they throw me out for putting my hands up, I'll tell them, "I don't wanna come back to a park that has such an unorthodox rule!" It seems like they're using the rule as an excuse to favor bad hygiene. Hiding the BO problem does not solve it.
GeorgeT Posted September 30, 2009 Posted September 30, 2009 Aaaah...it`s a problem of the europeans...THANK YOU VERY MUCH
