atem122 Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 I was in the car going home today and I noticed a billboard with a giant firebreathing dragon with the text saying Nightastic (it also said Disneyland on the billboard too ). When I got home I did a quick google search and came across this I'm still not totally sure what's going on and what is actually a major improvement, which is why I'm wondering if anyone else has information on this, or would like to comment on it.
Wes Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 Dunno what a picture of Deja Vu has anything to do with anything, but Nightastic is the name of DLR's summer promotion, which includes an improved Fantasmic with a new dragon, a new fireworks show, and some other night time entertainment. http://disneyland.disney.go.com/disneyland/en_US/special/summer/index?name=Nightastic
atem122 Posted June 7, 2009 Author Posted June 7, 2009 ^Oh crap my bad, the wrong link got copied, let me fix that Edit: Link Fixed
RCFreak Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 The new fireworks were in preview this weekend (obviously tons of videos on Youtube already) and is officialy on the schedule starting this Thrusday the 11. The New Fantsamic and I belive the new Electrical Parade is slated to start this Friday as well (again, expect tons of videos on Saturday with quite a few popping up Friday itself) And trust me, the new dragon for Fantasmic will be amazing.
atem122 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 Yeah I'm wondering how great it's gonna be, because I never thought the old one looked bad at all, so I'm betting the new one will be cooler than a 500 foot tall B&M dive machine/aquatrax combination
RCFreak Posted June 8, 2009 Posted June 8, 2009 lol the old one was a -big dragon head literrally attached to a giant metal rod. Although I think my favortie thing was two stage hands had to run back and forth to make the wings move. The new one will be a full 40 foot animatronic with full body and movement. Trust me, there's a HUGE difference.
atem122 Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 ^haha either I'm an idiot, or they do a really good job at hiding the magic pole, I'd go with option 1
