Thelegendarymatthew Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Ok, so I'm going up there around July 17th- July 22nd for a a wedding thing, and I'm going to Cedar Point.I'm staying with some of my relatives, and where going to be 10mins outside of the park. I wanted to ask a few things. Does the park get really crowded in July, because I've gotten into a lil' argument with David saying that millions of people go there. Is Mean Streak really rough? or is it just badly paced? What are the min-max time for each coaster? What are the best seats for each ride? I like air time! Is the food the same as KDs? Are pictures going to take up time, I mean I like getting a lot of shots of well everything. Can someone give an outline of how I should start off my day? What night rides do I need to hit? Do I need to walk, run, or RUN!? Would walking be faster than the train? Any other advice? I'm going on Sunday the 19th. Just one day Heres some other advice = http://coaster-net.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=9844
Homeboy23 Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Does the park get really crowded in July, because I've gotten into a lil' argument with David saying that millions of people go there. Yes. Is Mean Streak really rough? It was rough for me, but other people say its rougher than what I thought. What are the best seats for each ride? Sit in the back of Wicked Twister. The others I can't help with. Can someone give an outline of how I should start off my day? Start in the back with Maverick and Millennium Force. Carnage Posted June 5, 2009 Posted June 5, 2009 Does the park get really crowded in July, because I've gotten into a lil' argument with David saying that millions of people go there. The park gets just over 3 million people in an entire season.
Chris Benvenuto Posted July 2, 2009 Posted July 2, 2009 IS the food same as KD's.....Well, that's a fanboy statement if anything. I'd say extend your palate there! Walking is a heck of alot faster then the train. The loading process for the train takes too long because they wait a few minutes for any extra riders who want to come aboard. In the early morning rush, I'd say run to Millennium Force, Maverick or TTD because you'll be in for quite the wait later on in the day. Waits for those rides do not die until later into the night towards closing time. Yes, the park gets crowded in July and to about mid-August. No doubt. The Min-max thing I can't really say, because it could anything for the bigger rides. But for the smaller ones I'd guess no more then 30 minutes, as for the bigger rides, it's unpredictable. The best seat on Magnum is Car 1, Row 3! Millennium Force is anywhere in the back and with Maverick, ANYWHERE!!! Night Rides I'd suggest would be TTD and Millennium Force. BOTH are really fun and good rides at night, and it's refreshing too as the sun's down and you get a great chilling breeze! As for other advice, I really just say have fun, hit as many rides as you can at a reasonable pace and if you miss some? Plan a trip for the future and hit those when you come back for part two! Hopes this helps you out Matt!
Maverickrocks Posted July 3, 2009 Posted July 3, 2009 Best seats on Maverick are in the back car, rows 5 and 6. You get some incredible ejector air on the first drop. I'd agree that going to either MF/Maverick during early entry is the best plan. TTD won't be open unless one of those two is unable to open, although if it is I highly reccommend doing it after Maverick/MF since the line should be much smaller then during the day. If you do go to Maverick, make sure to be at the Magnum entrance gate at 9:00. If you go any later, or through another entrance, you'll face a 35-50 min wait even though it's early entry. In general, start with the back of the park and work you're way to the front. The only execption is Dragster, which I think is best to go to right before closing (and it's a better night ride). Hit Raptor between 3:00 and 5:00pm. I highly reccommend doing Mantis before 11 or around closing because it doesn't warrant anything longer then a 10 ,in wait IMO. The food is better then KD's but still highway robbery and pretty bad. I would reccommend eating at Panda Express because you at least get your money's worth, and Toft's ice cream because it's really good and not that overpriced. The park pretzels (fresh kind, not super pretzel) and custard are also good.
