Hey, guys! I have a bunch of pics of Cedar Point taken inside and outside the park. All were taken on my CoasterMania trip last year. I thought I would post them on here for your appreciation. This is basically a WAY overdue photo trip report.

Enjoy!

Bad picture, but still. Best skyline ever.

More to come later.

Cool looking sky.

Nice pictures

The Breaker's Express's pool area is pretty fun.

100_0420.jpg.48ff2e2897bf4e8593b6903e484f2648.jpg

Here's one of the rooms (and dad taking a nap).

A somewhat cliche hotel hallway pic (effect ruined by flash).

100_0416.jpg.3963ada47daae8e68368f5000f8be2c6.jpg

This pic reminds me of Florida a little.

Good but messy food haha.

100_0412.jpg.ed3cbe9e0affe0f63bd87f37d3eb1860.jpg

I find the Sandusky area quite pretty near Lake Erie.

100_0411.jpg.ff02e8cd7c7dc759d7cec3d0a49300b1.jpg

It's fun to take pics at cool angles.

New at the time.

I personally REALLY like Wildcat. It's just a lot of fun to ride. Too bad it was closed at the time.

100_0538.jpg.479b9ffb8c5ae4d6ac041ecc97b4cbd1.jpg

Iron Dragon is a nice family coaster. Not that thrilling, but still pretty cool.

100_0537.jpg.da325774d0e7e7e79864aa571e6e374e.jpg

Notice how nearly everyone has their hands up. Such a great ride.

Back over to the Force.

Empty station.

100_0532.jpg.1cb95814697bd98cec7d086ac57ff5eb.jpg

This is a common sight for Mean Streak.

100_0531.jpg.f0550027631015b603bf53146f8da0fd.jpg

Gotta love the old school mine style trains.

The final helix.

100_0528.jpg.f013217d7c2ce189a136aaeb603eef2f.jpg

This mine train sorta rides like Dahlonega Mine Train at SFOG. This one isn't as good because it is on flat ground. It's still pretty fun, though.

100_0527.thumb.jpg.d50cbaf81802f20373e50c323c9cf79b.jpg

Another funky angle photo.

100_0526.jpg.37b54c9d7c1889cf88b636cbfd7af42e.jpg

I find the blue side to be a little rougher than the red side for some reason.

100_0525.thumb.jpg.50ec3d2fb5eb0c039477f9d269a06eff.jpg

I think the red side was closed at the time.

100_0524.jpg.43e1d4fb39bc4195318d19ddbe8b750c.jpg

I find Gemini's final helix to be fun. I kinda like to be knocked around a little.

100_0523.jpg.8ca5c90ca53fb0570e00f7c6614750c0.jpg

Very retro station.

100_0522.jpg.6abf069006afd869aa0cf830ac7f965e.jpg

This was a funny sight. Apparently Cedar Point has several cotton trees, and they were shedding their cotton all over the Gemini Midway. On one of my rides on Gemini, a lot of cotton was airborne and was hitting me in my eyes. It wasn't fun.

100_0521.jpg.46d26a91e647ec14b9987d050a761903.jpg

You can see Millennium Force in several places throughout the park.

100_0520.jpg.b9a4cc99a586846efb5f03ea57cb17b2.jpg

That's a long lift.

100_0519.jpg.b10d222af63a0b0c7cfcc2907584a68d.jpg

I like Magnum's retro trains.

100_0518.jpg.c0421f1232892728ec37a87be6ae6e26.jpg

I like riding in the back car: middle row.

100_0517.thumb.jpg.dca85db5e2d8acc53bb2707e4124c641.jpg

That's a LONG way up.

100_0516.jpg.b54cd382fb0855718ea53a3d0d4bbc48.jpg

I love the sound of the train flying down the track. It sounds like a jet.

Top Thrill Dragster and overcast weather.

100_0514.jpg.feee7db550e526d638409e1bd922e7e2.jpg

What are you guys talking about? Cedar Point DOES have trees!

100_0513.jpg.4837639128f311bf7222eaba3e7ca28e.jpg

Power Tower gives me a good scare being held up there. I like it.

100_0512.jpg.36b9481d0da81ec06c0df94ed0d9187e.jpg

I much prefer the turbo drop side.

100_0511.jpg.3797928366368157e5a4b4f310603a74.jpg

I like drop rides.

100_0510.jpg.0f50f6928abcc46dc45ccb36f0116f09.jpg

Wicked Twister station.

100_0509.jpg.12b94d1a4ef6943df96f0c022997385e.jpg

This right here is the main reason Cedar Point became a popular tourist attraction in its first years. I never see very many people on it now.

100_0508.thumb.jpg.dfac26a99b01c3cba7b1ff42ef934447.jpg

Twisted.

Another fun coaster: Wicked Twister.

100_0503.jpg.0da9216dde7e726e4deb5f594ff0e02d.jpg

Gotta love Sandusky weather.

100_0502.jpg.bfc0fe2ac250308c0ddbe7fefcd07458.jpg

Uh oh! Giant bugs attack Cedar Point! (I know. bad attempt, right?)

Let's go to Alaska.

Hard to see theming.

Going in for some UV fun.

100_0495.thumb.jpg.a8a0a67c0ddf2f544adf899d383ac581.jpg

Disaster Transport is okay. It's a little short for me.

100_0494.jpg.3cfae528dd6614b93884a7d5a5454f48.jpg

Walking over here now.

100_0493.thumb.jpg.0d88a358af54f5e80c2f1d5b5d723f1f.jpg

It sorta does feel like your flying here.

100_0489.jpg.183f3afe7a13d54f4e0e227f88a1aa23.jpg

Pre-lift.

100_0488.jpg.9f6fb309128b4562e47ada5ee46baf94.jpg

Helixes were a rather popular way to end coasters for a while.

100_0487.jpg.ee81e2aa9aa72bea31a37116b506f2ee.jpg

More Raptor.

100_0486.jpg.d84a5905f412b1b2dad2ddf0e2d60ada.jpg

This fills the classic wooden coaster quota for the park.

100_0485.jpg.5c8510c4a1621be01ce18a81a007216d.jpg

This coaster is a lot better than its cousin across the park.

100_0484.jpg.3fb1473065fc2dd1fb106f8c2efad225.jpg

Watch out for that transition though. It's REALLY quick.

100_0483.jpg.7fcfb5377553e2507ced0f11528b4c35.jpg

A train full of happy riders.

100_0482.jpg.30e580c33537331e4c921b876f1caf0d.jpg

Corkscrew.

100_0481.jpg.377417c45f7cb57a0e359636c1bd0722.jpg

Fun ride that one is.

100_0480.thumb.jpg.572fe3b2e777f2ace2e802896c81592e.jpg

The drop is fun, but the transition to vertical position is rather painful.

100_0479.jpg.a96062790c2413a662250f5a2b03df63.jpg

I see you, Blue Streak.

100_0478.jpg.c0d1eb2edfadea0663b211ab276f33ca.jpg

You float all the way through the first drop on the far right side of the train.

100_0477.thumb.jpg.c9655bc175c0f812c9010fa4e14b46ee.jpg

Vertical loopage.

100_0476.jpg.9f37e89d44841b74e240c0089c81ba52.jpg

The best ride is given in the front seat on the far right side to me.

100_0475.jpg.83664a1ce4e4f855862aedf030c3ba6b.jpg

Looking back towards the Oceana Midway.

100_0474.jpg.61b93dcbfdd18b54d909599adf2c426e.jpg

My favorite B&M invert.

100_0473.jpg.2d12a7d05be00554aa599e54cede90ff.jpg

The last overbanked turn is fun.

100_0472.jpg.068a12f29d2fc5790a11e59daabe4f24.jpg

Cool sign.

100_0471.jpg.f362e4d5813d4b147d5457703bf0e0e9.jpg

Here we are at the concrete part of the park.

100_0470.jpg.8fb34b1eab979b32d1220e3a64e3133d.jpg

The lift hill is a magnificent sight. I used to drool over MF all the time when it first opened in 2000, and I was only 8 years old!

100_0469.thumb.jpg.995e470975c4dda302f7834e58f8bbbb.jpg

I wonder how many people have this picture?

100_0468.thumb.jpg.3ca6cd221f347ca0b34e26037ed7486d.jpg

Millennium Force: speed, height, smooth graceful elements, and some nice floater airtime.

100_0467.jpg.2432b9c2947c0dc86ff7e7839b0e0e24.jpg

The scenic Frontier Trail.

100_0466.jpg.4407889c9f09ff23130c69a4b8bc2dd5.jpg

Millennium also arguably has the best first drop on a coaster. It's just keeps going and going, all the while your getting some fantastic airtime all the way down.

100_0465.jpg.54012183f78f73789aa64162727fb6be.jpg

Here's my perspective on this coaster: the reason why people like it so much is because it gives a rather relaxing ride. Think about it. Your going really fast through super smooth elements, and your also getting nice long floater air moments on the first drop and the two big airtime hills. The thrill element comes from the speed, and it feels great on your face.

100_0464.jpg.d57ff9d96d871790d098edc1648a9c67.jpg

This is my favorite Shoot-the-chutes water ride. The drop has some nice air, and you get pretty wet. It feels great on a hot day.

100_0463.jpg.70c0aa76ad14529c36d60bb3eb878aa3.jpg

The "not-quite-as-good-as-Maverick-but-still-the-most-popular-coaster-at-the-Point" Millennium Force.

100_0462.jpg.00d067dbbcf2ea3e60bc2a7735628a1d.jpg

Intense positive gs!

100_0461.jpg.6f4dc2eeb4fad5c6579475d8e563c37c.jpg

Didn't quite time it right.

100_0460.jpg.9bb3aa655c081648f4c039d1e1e7a4d1.jpg

And probably the craziest element of the ride.

100_0459.jpg.fa257218c7dba2ddaeb726836ceb6c7b.jpg

Going through the horseshoe roll.

100_0458.thumb.jpg.7a00835ad9efa8c93f8823216526270b.jpg

Nice airtime!

100_0457.jpg.a1dc58a391e57eb34b346dd7ec627111.jpg

It's also quick and crazy, while still managing to be smooth.

100_0456.jpg.9c895b40a8ef3185325d2ae0de9d4724.jpg

Such a fun ride. The best part about it is the large variety of elements to me.

100_0455.jpg.0ca213d63daa737a6acb7327bea09cd3.jpg

In the mean time, let's enjoy some great rides on my favorite steel coaster!

100_0453.jpg.338da470cb457184cda636c16c29e253.jpg

I don't really mind them keeping Mean Streak, but Cedar Point does need to build another woodie or two soon.

100_0452.jpg.56a85d3f02f6044509be3e153aebdfeb.jpg

The largest coaster at the Point. It gives a fun ride, too.

100_0451.jpg.9f369c4c58d4bd37c467a7ccf83f095d.jpg

I personally really like racing coasters.

100_0450.jpg.b929a8e915ba75ca1655a7196aa25280.jpg

The first drop is great.

100_0449.jpg.cc386d9e5962e62929c3fa9073ffce6f.jpg

Gemini really is one of the park's best coasters.

100_0448.thumb.jpg.ad05cb209b672b107374a8d44f72a356.jpg

The sleeping giant.

100_0447.jpg.88e3124d1dc3b96c96b60b10df2ed03b.jpg

Welcome to Intamin and Arrow central.

100_0446.jpg.e2d7206961d15b12fb8cdfa677d29576.jpg

I like this sign. It's nice.

100_0444.jpg.fa9e4f1f2f3b740e7fc268214ae0bca6.jpg

Cool! Pinch me!

100_0442.thumb.jpg.9a3e837f4e2e62d0fcd8d8577d20dee9.jpg

And this is VERY high.

100_0441.jpg.1c30ff094594efae9e3a7c894943d03c.jpg

That's pretty high.

100_0440.jpg.781075132c0be6fc8757670c6675a906.jpg

Sure it's thigh bruising, but I still like it a lot.

100_0439.jpg.eb206e3c616c4ea2a5eff428c9a38ae8.jpg

Cedar Fair trash cans. At least they keeps the trash from overflowing out of the cans.

100_0437.jpg.0d611bfb509f2c885a87ba0c75dfb981.jpg

This is a lovely sight at a place like Cedar Point.

100_0436.jpg.e956df6968f5082ebebda8b5af428073.jpg

My favorite flat ride at the Point.

100_0435.thumb.jpg.0dca49c3f3bf15131d4d04ca42de98d8.jpg

Hello, Dragster.

100_0433.jpg.eabca7f9161391a5687f3fac8dfe6c1f.jpg

I can see how some don't like it. It rides better in certain seats compared to others.

100_0432.jpg.8e6c2fd2195b56b652042037c29c45b0.jpg

Hey look! It's one of those coasters that people can't stop talking about.

100_0431.jpg.85a52430b66865d6333ae5b4c62ffc6a.jpg

These two however are MUCH better.

100_0430.jpg.dcf304bb6fc4181d84594894199853e4.jpg

Ah...Mean Streak. It CAN be fun, but it's mostly just big and boring.

A couple more.

100_0542.thumb.jpg.9e136e83ec11f8eef4707ac9bb4e16bf.jpg

The park from the Ferris Wheel.

That's all I've got.

100_0541.thumb.jpg.c60d84a6afd0467ed9de8fddbda736b3.jpg

I was somewhat stapled on my ride. It kinda hurt my groin a little.

You should have taken the picture of Mean Streak from the hotel and smashed the person at the front desk in the head with it. Of course the person didn't do anything wrong, the ride just sucks that much. I really like those pictures of Maverick.

Posted

Sounds like every one of your "favorites" is at that park, but it does offer quite some sweet thrills.

On that picture of raptor into the final brake run where you say it can be a rough transition, look at all that bird poop on the support!

Great pictures though, looks like you had a nice day even with the weather.

Posted

^Yeah, I'm a Cedar Point fanatic. I enjoy just about everything there! Plus, I don't get that many opportunities to go to major parks around the country, so when I'm at places like Cedar Point, I have a great time just being there.
