coasterdude5 Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 When you add memory, do you get to keep the old memory card and combine the two? (i.e. 256mb+512mb) Just kinda confused...
WillMontu Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 It all depends on -The type of memory you have, and what your motherboard supports (ie. SDRAM, DDR, DDR2, EDO, etc.) -How many slots are available on the motherboard and what is in the existing slots. -How much memory your motherboard can support Usually, if you have free slots, you can just add the memory alongside your existing memory.
Hicko Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Yes you can have a 256 and a 512 running fine Esp if there the same type of memory 2100, 2700, 3200 for example.

Where can you find that info?
Hicko Posted July 28, 2005 Posted July 28, 2005 Download belarcadvisor or CPU-Z for free and they'll tell you everything you need to know about your system.
coasterdude5 Posted July 28, 2005 Author Posted July 28, 2005 Disregard that ^^. I found it. I have two slots for memory so I can combine them...
