dockers Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 This park has been going on at other forums for a long time, but it hasn't gotten much attention, so I figured I'd give it a shot here. I'm only posting the most recent update here, to see the others go http://www.ataricommunity.com/forums/showthread.php?t=666571. This update is dominated by Blizzard, a massive invert that is the centerpiece of Zurich. Welcome to Zurich, home of fine cheeses, chocolates, and one amazing invert. Blizzard's queue has plenty of things to look at. No matter where you are, Blizzard is always there, looking down on you. See, it's true! Ok, so it's kind of below you up on the peak... Not so dominating here, either... But if the coaster doesn't make you tremble in fear, they're always the big airy station. The park's skyline is growing... From all angles... Barnstormer Rebel Enjoy!
the ghost Posted May 27, 2009 Posted May 27, 2009 The park looks very good(especially the invert) but I do not really like the name of the park.
HPCrazy Posted May 30, 2009 Posted May 30, 2009 Nice park! I like how your invert uses the hillside and terain. I love building terrain coasters in RCT3! Could we see an aerial view of the whole thing and what is done so far?
dockers Posted May 31, 2009 Author Posted May 31, 2009 The park looks very good(especially the invert) but I do not really like the name of the park. What don't you like about the name? Is it too plain? Nice park! I like how your invert uses the hillside and terain. I love building terrain coasters in RCT3! Could we see an aerial view of the whole thing and what is done so far? It's a bit old, but here's an overview.
the ghost Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 I don't know what it is about the name. It just does not really roll off the tongue or anything like that. It just in my opinion is not a very realistic park name. I have no suggestions for a new name, but I am just not a fan of the current one.
netdvn Posted May 31, 2009 Posted May 31, 2009 The good... - The coaster layouts are awesome! They use the terrain very well. - Some of the scenery looks very good. The bad... - It looks as though you've crammed a bunch of rides into a small space. It the park seems a bit crowded. Try spacing the rides out a little more. - Some of the areas look great, but others don't. Try adding a bit more scenery to the barren-looking areas (maybe flowers or theming). I'm assuming you haven't finished those areas though because they do look incomplete. - You might also need to do some scenery work around the coasters. They look barren and don't really suit the rest of the park. Try adding some rock formations, trees, and theming around them. The park could use some improvement, but the park looks very promising.

It just in my opinion is not a very realistic park name. I have no suggestions for a new name, but I am just not a fan of the current one. I kinda thought of the name just because there's a river and trees, and it the name of a town somewhat close to me. I'm reluctant to change it, however, because I started this park back in October, and it's grown on me. The good... - The coaster layouts are awesome! The good... -Thanks! Using the terrain better was one of my goals with this park so I'm glad it's working The bad... -Frankly, it's too late to really spread things out; it would just be too much work. I agree with you, but I'm just too lazy to fix it. -Just about everything you see in the overview that aren't in the crowded areas were unfinished when I took the picture, but a lot of it has been filled up by now. And I have been neglecting flowers, so I will be adding more. -If you're referring to the really empty ones in the overview, those are still unfinished. But for the others, it's because they're built on those rocky hills, where I think it would be unrealistic to have many trees there. Thanks for the comments, I'll have a little update tomorrow.
Moose Posted June 1, 2009 Posted June 1, 2009 A year ago, I would have agreed that the park seemed jampacked and that it wasn't realistic, but the TPR mainland Europe trip changed my opinion on park layouts. One could draw a direct comparison of a park to either Phantasialand or Europa park (My Favorite) both of which are jam packed with stuff and both are absolutely lovely parks. Good park.
dockers Posted June 3, 2009 Author Posted June 3, 2009 Not much new in this update, but still some pretty pictures. An early Swiss morning. Barnstormer I gave Rebel's track a darker blue. Does it look better than before? A playground on the river. The coaster in the background is River Runner, which will receive an update soon. Night shot. Enjoy! Thanks, like Phantasialand, I have Streamwood opening in 1994 and going until 2009, so it's had plenty of time to fill up.
netdvn Posted June 3, 2009 Posted June 3, 2009 The good - The landscaping is top notch - Rebel reminds me of SKC with Scream's colors - Night shots are fantastic The bad - The area around Rebel seems a bit barren Suggestions - Add some scenery around Rebel to make it look better. I suggest adding waterfalls, and maybe some Old West mine theming along the mountain to allow trains to interact with the layout. A few shrubs here and there would help make the area look a lot nicer.
HPCrazy Posted June 7, 2009 Posted June 7, 2009 After I looked at the aerial view of the park, I do agree that everything seems a little cramped. I thought the park itself was actually bigger than it really is. Perhaps you can build around the lake more and spread everything out. Other than that, I really don't see anything else, but that's just my opinion.
dockers Posted June 8, 2009 Author Posted June 8, 2009 Update Ok, now time for River Runner, Streamwood's premier family coaster and water ride, hidden deep in the woods. River Runner's big drop as seen from the queue. Of course, any great journey begins in the station And then said journey travels through the forest and beside the river. Over the river and through the woods, to grandmother's house we go! A small stream in the mountains powers the mill. Just prior to the wetness. Wetness. And a random shot of Blizzard and Rebel. Comment and enjoy!
netdvn Posted June 9, 2009 Posted June 9, 2009 The water ride looks excellent. But Rebel's area still looks barren. You should follow my advice on the previous page...
Stoksy Posted June 11, 2009 Posted June 11, 2009 Looks really good so far, however IMO there are too many bunny hops on the water coaster. Maybe make some of them smaller. IDK, the themeing looks great though. Too many bunny hops at too high-a height, but that's just my opinion.
