I participated in the 30 Hour Famine (that's where we raise money for world hunger, then we don't eat for 30 hours) over the weekend and to top off the weekend... we got EIGHT INCHES of snow! Memphis hasn't gotten that much snow in at least a decade.

I'll get straight to the pictures:

It was coming down like rain!

It snowed for at least 12 hours.

Lucy got her first real taste of snow.

Sassy doesn't know what to think of it.

The streetlights cast an eerie glow over the street.

The fort in the backyard was covered.

I'm not sure I've seen this much snow in my life.

That bush got PWNED.

I slept in this morning, so alot of it had melted on the streets.

My house is covered.

There's my window.

AHHHH it's a wall of snow!

What an end to a massive snow...

Man Memphis got really lucky. I saw where north of the city got even more at 10". Pretty sweet since I love snow, but Nashville totally got duped this round. Sadly we may have had a 1/4" at best and all around us was at least a foot if not more!

I wish I could think that eight inches was a lot of snow. You don't know how lucky you are!

The dogs in those pictures are beautiful--I'm assuming they're yours? If there is one positive aspect of snow, it's watching dogs romp through it with wagging tails and snow on their noses--talk about adorable!

Loopy, we took a measure ourselves. I'm not sure though how much of that accumulation was blown snow so it's hard to tell. Although the National Weather Service gave my town Bartlett a 8.0" total snow amount.

Pirouettes, thanks! We have a mini-dachshund, but she's not too fond of the snow, especially since the snow was about as high as she is!

I am wanting some more snow like this. We had 10 inches about a month ago, I had bald tires and was pretty much SOL on getting anywhere in the deep stuff. Now, I have brand new tires I want to test out.
