mejaybe
I'm planning to visit the park(s) on April 6th and 7th but am on a very tight budget. I see that on Disneyland.com you can order "Resident" 2-day park hopper tickets for $84.00 ages 3-9 and $94.00 ages 10 and up. Now, though I do live in California I'm not a So. Cal. resident but my father is (Upland, CA 91786) but he is not coming into the park with us. Disneyland.com evidently lets you purchase these Resident 2-Day Park Hopper tickets online and you can even request to have your tickets e-mailed so you can go straight to the main gate. With that basis of information in mind, here are my questions: 1. If I have these "e-tickets" printed from an e-mail, do I need to show proof of residency when I get to the main gate? 2. If answer to #1 is "Yes", can my father buy our tickets for us at the park even if he isn't coming into the park with us? Would appreciate any feedback on this matter as well as any additional information or ideas I may be missing. TTFN, ~JayBe
haiderodes
Twice I have used SoCal passes of some sort. Both times they were purchased from Vons and were the plastic, ticket sized ones you take directly to the gate and can use to get fastpasses. In those instances they didn't check IDs (even though the back says they might). With the printouts, you still go to the gate, HOWEVER they will replace that with a "generic ticket" of sorts that allows you to still use the FP machines. There is still a chance they will check your IDs, but I haven't heard this happen to anyone. I always figured that people who live in SoCal often buy those tickets for friends and family so that's probably why they arent sticklers for checking IDs. packfanlv
I have used SoCal passes in the past and never have been asked to show ID. Instead of the two day park hopper, why don't you get a 2Fer ticket which allows for one day in each park without hopping. This is the same as a one day ticket and costs $69 for adults and $59 for children. It might help you save a few bucks.
mejaybe
Convinced my dad to buy 2-day park hopper tickets and have them delivered via mail. Price is perfect for what I need and I doubt they'll check my ID at the gate as well. EDIT: I had thought about getting the 2-Fer but I want the option to go to both parks on both days. Thanks for the suggestion though!
SharkTums
Totally fine with all of this, and understand it gets done quite a lot... That being said, if anyone is ever asked for ID don't come crying back to any of us because it clearly says they may ask you to show ID. Also do yourself a favor and don't argue with the Cast Member either. I'd love to be able to take advantage of the Florida Resident deals that WDW offers, heck, I could even go as far as some people do and get a Florida ID card, but I choose to just follow the rules and deal with having to pay more. packfanlv
^Good point Elissa. The back of all of the SoCal tickets does say you must show ID at the gate.
haiderodes
Anyone who argued really wouldnt have much ground to stand on anyway...seeing as how it says ID required. The first time I was the most leary in the group about using the ticket. We just made sure we were prepared to pay the difference if they said anything. mejaybe
Naah, I wouldn't complain to you guys or bitch about Disneyland CM's or the park in itself. I know I'm taking a risk when I do this and was just trying to get a feel for the odds of its success. For everyones information, I did call guest services at the park, said I was a resident buying 2-day park hopper passes and she said that they do not check ID at the turnstyles. The only time they do check is if you are purchasing at the ticket booths. Figured I'd have my kids enter before me whoopin' and hollerin' about how excited they are about being there... you know, a distraction.... just in case. If you're that worried about it, just get there at opening when they're trying to push the big line through the gate. Personally, I'd rather spend the few extra bucks for the peace of mind of having a legitimate ticket. Disney is expensive, but they often have sales if you're willing to go outside of peak times. mejaybe
I'm really not worried at all. It'll work.
