RCT2 Buildings help!

OK, SO I have had RCT for ages and have always just used what was there. After seeing everyone's awesome work on RCT2 ( I had it ages ago on another computer) so I picked up a copy with the Time Twister expansion.

 

My question is, after seeing all these bulidings that everyone is creating, how do you get them made? I can build all kinds of walls, but can't get a roof on them. Or is this a function that comes in the expansion packs? I haven't installed Twister yet, thought I would refresh myself before adding that in.

 

I have searched through tons of threads here but haven't found anything that addresses this issue. Sorry if there is one there I haven't found.

I kinda think I understand your question, not sure though. But I will answer it:

You push the shift button and lift the roof piece into place.

Make sure to HOLD the SHIFT key, and RAISE the roof piece with your MOUSE; this *should* resolve your problem.

Use DBru's and team thrillers advice, but also try to download some roof packs. If you type RCTpairs into the search bar, you will find a contest

I started that ended a while ago, if you click that thread and go through a few pages, you will find a scenario created by BRTeller. His scenario is my favorite ever, and you will get tons of awesome CS, awesome for building everything and anything you could want to build.
