edboxer Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Hands down - my sister actually made, in a crockpot, sweet and sour kielbasa - "You cut up the Kilebasa and put it in the crockpot with barbaque sauce and grape jelly - its so easy"
Meteornotes Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Wow, that's just disturbing to read about. How many days did you have to spend in the hospital afterwards? My wife and I are both pretty good cooks, so I can't think of anything bad that one of us created. I do remember at various family gatherings when I was a kid people would bring jello with stuff inside, which for some reason really bothers me to look at... dt
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Considering my wife posts here I had best be careful. She is actually a REALLY good cook, and we used to eat some awesome stuff in the "Pre-Atkins" days, but we still get good cooking once in awhile. Okay, so to the topic at hand. I'm not going to say something that Kristi made that was gross because, like I said, I'd be a dead man. I will talk about something that Kristi's Mom made a few years ago though. Christmas Eve (I'm thinking 2 or 3 years ago) she made some kind of Pumpkin Ice Cream pie or something. Now, My mother in-law (who is the BEST) is an awesome cook. I have NEVER hated ANYTHING she has ever made, except this. I'm sure Kristi can be more specific on exactly 'what' it was, but I think it was the first time we were all in agreement (even my Mother in-law) that it wasn't something we ever needed to eat again.
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Aw, come on honey, post something bad that I have cooked you in the 10 years we have been together! Trust me, you won't get in trouble!!! Kristi "my dream is still to be a chef someday! Maybe a low carb chef!!! " C.
BelizeIt Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Alright I went to a relative's house in Irvine CA and they had ordered some food from the famous "Sam Woo" restaurant. Know Sam Woo is great for authentic Chinese/Mandarin Etc>>> Not that usual crap you get at most Americanized Chinese restaurants. So what was on tonight's menu??? Barbecued Pork.---No Problem Squid in Black Bean Sauce.---No Problem Shredded Duck Soup.---No Problem Pig Intestine with pickled vegetable.---PROBLEM!!! Pork Blood, Pig Skin, With green leek (House Specialty)---PROBLEM!!! Boiled Beef Tripe---PROBLEM!!! It was a Difficult Night but I ate a little of everything (To not do so would have been insulting) The next day to my surprise, No Intestinal Issues!!! Woo Hoo!!! Sam Woo Rocks!!! I order food Togo from them when ever I'm in Irvine!
robbalvey Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 If I have to eat "Company Chicken Sauce" ONE MORE TIME....OMG!!!!!! --Robb "It's good, but not 277 days in a row!!!!" Alvey
BiCoastal Kid Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 My grandma tried to make guacamole out of asparagus once.... it didn't turn out all so well. That being said, everything else my grandma makes is pretty much awesome!
Sir Clinksalot Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 ^^ Dude, Elissa's "Company" cooking rocks!! Of course we have only had it once, but it still rocked!!!
DenDen Posted July 21, 2005 Posted July 21, 2005 Hands down - my sister actually made, in a crockpot, sweet and sour kielbasa - "You cut up the Kilebasa and put it in the crockpot with barbaque sauce and grape jelly - its so easy" LOLROTF! MY sister makes meatballs the same way. They're called "Trailer-park Sweet-n-sour meatballs". You use those frozed-bulk meatballs that taste like dog food, grape jelly, and BBQ sauce. Absolutely disgusting! But my mom loves them, go figure, she's old with no taste buds left. LOL
FlyingScooter Posted July 22, 2005 Posted July 22, 2005 PanCakes: My girlfriend makes lousy pancakes. They look whiter than chalk and have they texture of gasket material. They do, however, make great frisbees!
