ReadySetGo! Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 A small park I'm working on, nothing that special but I never have really tried to make my parks pretty. Now you can see my attempt. Oh, and I know I'm not an architect so if anyone has any building tips it'd be greatly appreciated! Actually, tips on anything would be greatly appreciated. :] SCR7.BMP SCR6.BMP SCR5.BMP SCR4.BMP SCR3.BMP SCR2.BMP SCR1.BMP
DBru Posted December 26, 2008 Posted December 26, 2008 While it is evident you are a beginner, your ideas seem to be good, and I have a few tips that may help you out... -While harder for peeps get around, try using wider paths (2-3 tiles wide) so the park looks less cluttered. Its nice to have a compact park, just not 'too' compact. -Make sure to give your coasters/rides custom stations made from scenery. While the stations that come with RCT2 are convenient, they just don't look very good... -Try not to leave your food/drink shops bare. Place them inside nice buildings you have made specifically for those shops. -To make more realistic architecture, use lots of different angled (well, not angled, but...include lots of extra corners) to give your buildings more depth and variety. You have potential, just see what you can make of these tips, and I'm sure you'll come out with much more detailed, realistic products. Good luck, and I can't wait to see more from you!
ReadySetGo! Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Thanks for the tips DBru. I'll keep this all in mind when starting my new park...This one was ravished with "I want to go home" visitors, and I don't know how to make they go away. :/ Ah, it was looking so nice too. I'm hoping to get the park more stable and maybe cleaning it up with the tips you gave me DBru...but if there is no way to fix the mean visitors I guess I'll have to start from scratch with a new park. Kinda sucks but maybe it's for the best...
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Name flat rides, because I noticed in the first screenshot that you had a top spin named Top Spin 1. Come up with some names, or ask people for names, either will work just don't leave the rides with it's normal name + a number. Hope this helps!
ReadySetGo! Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Oops! Okay, but I gotta warn you I'm not the most creative when it comes to naming rides haha. Thanks! I'll post pictures of my failed park anyway, because it was the whole point of this thread. And yes, I know just about all the rides I didn't bother to make myself (EXCEPT for steelelectric, i made that one by myself.) Anyway, here is the Best of the Failed... BelgianGuy Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 Kill Frightmare and the slide! I hate prefabs!!! Other than that try using more buildings and some landscaping, get 8cars trainer so you can build a closed park without having to bother over money. This'll make sure you won't have to rush things and it'll look better if you can put more time in it, I'm now building a park in rct2 with trainers and I'm now on 4rides of wich 2 are flats and it took me about 7hours to build it, and I think thats not even that long if you see other guys work over here. Also study from other good builders on the forum so you can see what the possibilities are.
ReadySetGo! Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 7 hours?? I only spent 5 hours on this whole park lol. I guess i just need more than a little bit of effort. I need to work harder and plan out my park better...and maybe choose a different objective haha. Thanks for the tips
Xaninx Posted December 28, 2008 Posted December 28, 2008 ^ You do know there is a "sandbox mode" feature in RCT2, right? -> No money, set goal at "Build 10 rollercoasters".
ReadySetGo! Posted December 28, 2008 Author Posted December 28, 2008 Yeah that's where i made the Imagination Falls scenario. I just never played with any other objective before lol.
triggernel Posted December 29, 2008 Posted December 29, 2008 Just do what experienced veterans tell you to do, it always works the best. he he
