Idlewild's new pirate-themed waterpark attraction will be its second major expansion in as many years, complementing its wildly successful 2005 addition, Paul Bunyan's Loggin' Toboggan, a log flume ride located in the Hootin' Holler area of the park. "Our guests will be saying 'Shiver me timbers' when they visit our expanded waterpark in 2006," said Brandon Leonatti, general manager. "Our new pirate-themed waterpark will be unlike any other around and will secure our leadership position as one of the best kids parks in America with eight themed areas for summer fun. pgathriller Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 It's weird that there is such a big boom in water park expansions to theme parks. Has anybody noticed that even though water parks are very succeful right now only theme parks are building them. I have not seen a new by itself water park like Wet-N-Wild. I wonder why that is?
coasterdude5 Posted July 20, 2005 Posted July 20, 2005 Yeah, I've noticed that too. I hope they don't overttake themeparks. I hate the idea of the two parks combined. You've got wet people riding coasters. Crowds flocking through the park to get to the water section.(COUGH SFGAM COUGH!) But that's just my opinion. It does have some pros, less people in the dry park. But sometimes that backfires too. Getting back on subject... I'm really glad Idlewild's seeing all this growth. It'd be nice for them to get a big coaster even though they are a kid's park. Powderkeg! That's for families. Hmmm...
