DBru Posted December 15, 2008 Posted December 15, 2008 Sorry to wait so late, but this is Semester Finals week, and I really don't have time to work in RCT2. I really would like to compete in this contest, though...could you extend the deadline by a few days? I'd really appreciate it!
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 I hope everyone is finished, or has something good! I look forward to seeing some great parks tomorrow! I wish you all luck! Hope all have a good park! 12 hrs until judging begins!
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 Question: (3 actually) Where can I find my RCT3 Screen Shots, 2 how do I upload my park, 3 are we going to submit our park's screen shots?
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 I can't answer question two for you, but question three, no, unless you want to and for Question one? you go into infrogames interactive, go into the RCT2 folder and click on the folder titled screenshots and they should be there. as for uploading the park, I've never submitted a park to this site, so I can't help sorry. You can get to me by email, if need be, otherwise someone will need to explain the upload process in my steed.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted December 23, 2008 Posted December 23, 2008 ^Well, I'll see how I can upload my park, but if I can't, can I submit detailed screen shots instead?
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 23, 2008 Author Posted December 23, 2008 Yes, you can! Feel free to, if you like!
DBru Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Okay, so I'll admit, I procrastinated and started on this project about 6 hours ago... I'm finally done, though! For my entry, I tried to recreate Time Square (which can be made out as the 'road' paths, bordered by sidewalks; the brick paths are just extras that branch out from the main Time Square). Sadly, my recreation didn't come at as planned...but oh well, I guess it'll do for now. I was originally just going to make the Square, and then create one coaster based around it all. I later decided to add some other rides, as well, to make it seem more like a 'park'. The coaster idea is still evident, though. (It was the last thing I built.) So without further ado, I present to you... ...my version of Time Square, NY, NY! Pictured here is the Big Apple ('ball dropping'), and the New Years Carnival section. The station and launch track for Eve, an Intamin Accelerator with Wingrider trains. This premier attraction is sure to take you on the most wild ride of your life, blasting right into the New Year! Hope you enjoy my submission... http://www.brandonscoasters.com/TimeSquare.SV6
Thelegendarymatthew Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Whatever I have is crap. I cant do good urban themeing. I'm out. . . . . -Matthew.K
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 ^Same here. But I did manage to put a little bit together. I used some custom scenery (as you said I could) and I also put together some "2008 year in review" attractions. I figured out how to post my park. Here it is! New Year's Extravaganza.SV6
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 24, 2008 Author Posted December 24, 2008 Dbru, when I tried to open your file, it said I was missed SkyRder with a bunch of numbers afterwards. FYI, for you! and SFE, I'm missing something that involves an object called ZEPNLIN with a bunch of numbers, or something along that line. You did remember to check off the import scenary box? I'm just checking, with you both, so I know!
DBru Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 Try moving these files into your ObjDat folder... TS Data Files.zip
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted December 24, 2008 Posted December 24, 2008 I made sure again, and hopefully this is better. New Year's Extravaganza.SV6 Does this one work?
Chris Benvenuto Posted December 27, 2008 Author Posted December 27, 2008 Anyone else have a park they'd like to submit? I feel I may have to extend the judging period, somewhat longer. Dunno, how long, but I just feel I might have to.
Chris Benvenuto Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 Dbru came in first, and SFE in second. So there was no other parks submitted. Sorry about the results, but I had to make do with what I had. No prizes. Just congrats from me you two. Thanks to everyone who tried and took part.
Six Flags Enthuseast Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Yeah, my park sucked, but at least I've figured out how to make it better, so I'll try again for the Easter Contest. ^^Didn't you say there was an Easter Contest?
Chris Benvenuto Posted January 6, 2009 Author Posted January 6, 2009 I'm moving the Easter contest back a few weeks to mid Feburary. Because, I want to make a contest based off of opening day for the 2009 Major League Baseball season. I will allow people to use MLB.com in the effort of making their park and the effort to name rides after certain players, plays and the terminology of the The Show. That will be the contest that's coming up soon, so stay tuned for an annoucement in about 2-3 weeks.
